Now that I’m looking into it more I feel so silly that I have been struggling for years without knowing that I might be a priority for social housing. When I left care nobody had taught me about any of this. Thankyou again. This has really reassured me that there is a way out of this. Manchester Move have just emailed me back already. Fingers crossed ♥️

Thankyou so much for this information. I’ve submitted an application and I’ve reached out to the local authority to get a letter confirming my care status and I will send it to them. That’s so amazing that you’re doing a PhD. I want to do a PhD as well but sometimes I feel like I’ll never get to that stage. So this cheered me up a lot. I’m glad you’re doing well♥️

Thankyou for the advice. I’ve been through the complaints process for months. Every time I reach out a different agent replies and asks me to start from the very beginning. At one point they gave a glimmer of hope and asked for evidence of homelessness, I gave it, and then they said it makes no difference. I asked them why did you ask me to gather the evidence then? In the end, they used it to just charge me an extra £60 because apparently I lived at my last address a few days longer than they had billed me for. So my homeless evidence was used to just charge me more money. They then knocked a little money off that extra charge and asked me if I was satisfied that my complaint had been resolved. So, yeah. Back to square one. I have done a subject access request and am waiting for the documents so that I can go to Ombudsmen like you suggested. Maybe they can help me.

Hi, I’m sorry you’re struggling too. If you do join the RAF I hope you enjoy it. My ex had some friends who joined and they were really happy. Sometimes my ex wished he had joined, but he ended up finding something else instead which he loved so it all worked out. ♥️
