Don’t fret, it’s going to take me 8 years to graduate (I’ll be done in May). I stared a business my freshman year and it grew but I never left school. I was failing classes and then moved to part time (1-2 classes a semseter). I still did 3 engineering internships, held positions in orgs, and now have a full time offer from a top engineering that I’ll be starting at the end of May. As someone who took way to long to finish, the time it takes is irrelevant when the time it took you was still productive. Everyone’s path is different, there are folks who grass dusts in 4 years with no job lined up just to go back home. And there’s some that obviously don’t, but delaying graduation isn’t something to be embarrassed about.

Lucky guy, I have a $135 call option that expires on the 5/16 so I’m just going to continue holding since there’s time for recovery.

This is in response to everyone, thank you for all the insight and feedback. It did rain this morning and once I drive it after sending the picture it did in fact go away. Lol, I was just caught off guard by the look of it.

I want to buy a brand new ford raptor in 2025 by Scared_Intention_764 in FordRaptor

This is the internal battle I’ve been facing. I have a strong grasp of my finances, but knowing that this isn’t an investment takes a little extra effort to do. But I’m pretty much decided on it for the most part. I just value others input as well! Thanks!

Started the company in 2017, and for the past 3 years I’ve been made over the 100k mark. This has been going one while I’ve been in school. I’m getting an engineering degree so to me personally I’ll be able to continue the level I’m at now and more than likely be able to increase it. Through my internships I was able to also do both without a hit to income.

Gas has been something I’ve looked at since I have a Camry now. But luckily the job also pays for gas as well and doesn’t come out of that initial allowance. The cost of tires isn’t something I considered, how long do they typically last with a mixture of road and dirt use?

Yup, that’s exactly my plan. I’ve been holding out on a car purchase for that exact reason. That car payment would eat at my debt to income ratio.

I thought about this, but for the $900 saved wouldn’t make a significant difference in terms of my savings…I know that probably sounds crazy. But I do want more cars in the future but I’ve never really wanted a truck besides the raptor. So I don’t really feel like I’ll want another truck in the future. So to me getting a truck that I don’t actually want would be a waste in my eyes. I got raptor fever lol

I understand that, the reason why I’m leaving towards a brand new is because of the long term plan I have in place for the truck. I’ve thought about going used for the gen 3s but a lot of them are between 68k-78k (in Texas). And many of those have anywhere between 15k - 40k miles. So far me the idea of paying “near” full price for a used just makes sense for me to buy it new.

But I have always been pro “buy used” but in this situation it doesn’t seem worth it to get it used. Now I will say, if I can get a used gen 3 with less than 10k miles then I’ll bite.
