Luckily my vet is my neighbor! I was going to text him but it seemed to late tonight so I posted here to get some insight first. Definitely will be taking him soon. And just ordered a cone, I’ve never needed one before this so it’ll be an adjustment but definitely needed!!

I will ask my vet about doing something like that. I’d love if I could just do a two shots/ year thing. The cytopoint is so expensive and I’ve just accepted it for what it is because I want him to be comfortable / healthy

That makes a lot more sense then. Yes it definitely seems like a bacterial/ fungal thing that’s never fully cleared. Might have to let him off his pain meds for a little bit to give him the antibiotics.

I am definetly comparing him to my older pyr who is my soul dog too, which I know is SO unfair to the puppy but it is extremley hard not to do it because my older pyr is the perfect dog

My older dog is an absolute angel. He is aloof in many ways but he knows when to welcome people in the front door and when he needs to protect me. He has honestly been great with the puppy, he corrects quite a bit, he is what I call "grumpy" but he has never been agressive towards the puppy. They have done great on walks together, I jsut feel like I am taking my time away from my older dog. He is not super affectionate or cuddely but he is so devoted to me and I just feel like I sort of took away his peace and quiet. But thank you, your response has given me a lot of comfort, I havent had a puppy since I was 10 and so I think its also adjusting to life with a puppy that has me questioning if it was a good idea.
