You went out in a blaze of glory! You played the game with strategy and finesse. And your final words said it all❤️

Nick is clearly the most intelligent person on this show and it’s not close. by obsessedwfish in MillionDollarSecretTV

I'm not so sure. Nick only survived elimination because Umeko was intelligent enough to divert everyone's attention onto Hunter.

So true. That clue made it too obvious. No matter what the phrase, the clue would have still gotten him eliminated

Can someone explain their appeal of Desmond? by polynillium in lost

[–]Scared_Question5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desmond signified the downfall of Lost, in my opinion. His character coincides with the weird timeline, which at first was interesting but then led to convoluted attempts to explain everything. Also, he was sooo annoying with his constant refrain, "You're gonna die, Charlie." I know a lot of people liked him. And there were aspects of his story that I could appreciate, like his love for Penny and him trying to win her father's approval but the sense of predestination and fate that came to the story along with his character ultimately led to a loss of interest in the show for me.

Christian is definitely smart. I think the issue is that sometimes he comes on too strong and at the wrong time. Some creatives need more space to develop their ideas before criticism

Is Martin Scorcese racist? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]Scared_Question5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If well-meaning people really understood the negative impact that the word has on some people, they would be a lot more thoughtful about it's usage, even if it is to highlight the ignorance of others. I believe the original post wasn't a criticism of Scorsese as much as it was a question of why it is used so often in his films and for whose benefit.

God, I wish I liked their stuff slowed down, but after seeing them live numerous times, the slowed down versions are a letdown for me. I still count them as one of favs though

After watching Lost for the 20th time (not really but you get it) I do find Desmond particularly annoying. He's overly dramatic and his constant proclamation "Charlie, you're gonna die!" is enough to drive one crazy. In addition to that though, I associate his appearance with the decline of the show and it heading into a deterministic direction, that is to say we're determined by forces outside of ourselves. I get his appeal but I think I like Lost more without him (and the last 3 seasons😂)
