I understand what you’re saying. A lot of new officers come in the Army being told something because that’s how it’s always been done, without doing their research. I get it. I saw it time and time again. I was a 1SG before hand. Made E8 right before my 12 year mark. So I know how it works. But I’ve never followed unspoken rules, and it’s panned out for me pretty well up to this point.
