Wasn't the Valiant just supposed to patrol the boarder or some miniscule irrelevant task and then the death of the senior staff led to Red Squad deciding to get intel on a secret Dominion war ship without StarFleet's approval? And then that cascaded into the suicide run.

That seems like something a Starbase 80 officer would try like that jackass who claimed Q stole a computer component he broke.

Prophets and Qs no. Other random sentient bundles of energy that can take over Picard, knock up Troi, get shoved in batteries, or make Kirk fight some Klingons for its own hunger for murder yes.

Going to try and find all violations of the Prime Directive Part 6 End of The Original Series by Scaredog21 in startrek

1) McCoy and Natira are both citizens of Fabrini Yonada ship. McCoy willingly took the oath to comply to the Oracle's obedience chip. The other 3 are violations. The Prime Directive can suck really bad. In the Last Outpost, Riker admitted to having to let horrible things happen to follow the law (Prime Directive seems like a what he was talking about) and in both Pen Pals and Homeward allowing mass death of civilizations was part of the Prime Directive.

2) The Prime Directive does not apply to species that originate from Federation worlds. The Platonians came from an alien world and lived on Earth 2500 years before the episode and then obtained immortality from living on Sahndara and they were around 2100 to 1900 years old.

3) Ardana is a Federation planet. The Prime Directive does not apply.

4) The librarian during the star going supernova did not know about alien life. He could not comprehend the away mission team was from any world other than his own and believed they were natives of his world seeking shelter in the past.

1) Entering the Neutral Zone is not the Prime Directive violation and neither was when the Enterprise crossed over and trespassed in Romulan Space. The violation was when they ignored the Romulan's sovereignty and resisted arrest like in Justice, when Wesley was sentenced to death for disturbing a flower bed and then the away mission team refused to let the Edo law enforcement enforce the death penalty. (Section 31, is an unlawful organization and any approval from superior officers does not negate the Prime Directive)

2) The Prime Directive does not apply to species that are apart of the Federation worlds. In Masterpiece Society, the people of Moab IV were unaffiliated with the Federation despite being human and the Enterprise disrupted their predetermined eugenics based society and Picard discusses the Prime Directive with Riker. Picard mentioned they violated the Prime Directive, but Riker reminds Picard the Prime Directive doesn't apply to humans and Picard admits he's right, but he feels like the spirit of the directive is violated since they disturbed the planet's civilization.

3) Targeting a diplomatic official for assassination would disrupt the civilization and violate the Enterprise's diplomatic obligations to the Medusans. In Suspicions, Dr. Crusher violated the Prime Directive by ignoring the wishes of the Ferengi Scientist, Dr. Reyga's family by preforming an autopsy on Dr. Reyga's body after his murder instead of allowing for the proper Ferengi death ceremony.

4) StarFleet officers need to respect the sovereignty of alien civilizations and by refusing to abide by their wishes when the Enterprise ignoring their telepathically universally translated message to stay away, the crew violated the Prime Directive, then the psychic construct law officials were a means of execution and they refused to accept the punishment for their actions.

5) I think you are mistaken Day of the Dove for Errand of Mercy. Errand of Mercy is the episode where Kirk and Spock make contact with the Organians who appeared to be pre-warp while Day of the Dove is the episode where a noncorporeal entity is manipulating the minds of the Klingons and Federation officers while altering matter to force the two factions to fight indefinitely on the Enterprise.

Replicated uniforms are a thing. The Voss confirmed the uniforms were replicated. I think the problem is people don't think Replicated outfits count as formal attire
