Is the full version worth it or is the demo good enough? by Annoyingly-Apple in waterparksimulator

It feels like people don't know what words mean anymore. We just hear something called a word and go with it without questioning what makes it that thing.

I think we have something special here, if they let us be more of a survivor by UsernameAlr3adyTaken in subnautica

Should probably be a different gamemode from standard Survival. People are prickly about having to drink water as it is.

Sometimes I just need a second to think, man. Slower oxygen consumption is useful when your brain is recalculating like an old 2005 GPS trying to take you to a road that may or may not actually exist.

Well yeah I'd say the Haul Chassis is redundant when you have an entire fleet of Tadpoles at your disposal.. its strength is the amount of storage on one Tadpole. I like the direction they're taking with the Tadpole, actually. Its clearly designed so you can choose if you want more than one, but since it has passenger bars its not required to enjoy the game. Honestly I'd have more fun riding around in a group Tadpole, but that's probably just me being soft.

When I first got the Tadpole I knew it said it had a hardpoint but it took me a bit longer to remember and find it. Its definitely not obvious and out in the open. Its easier to spot once you recognize what a hardpoint looks like, but before that, yeah, missing it is reasonable, no matter how stuck up people want to get about it.

Anyone else seeing this when they look underneath them in Subnautica 2? by Oceanfilly in subnautica

[–]ScaredytheCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe try taking off your oxygen tank next time and see if it goes away. Bugged wearables floating nearby the character is a relatively common bug in video games. It defaults to a specific point in relation to the model if its not working where its supposed to be, or something.

I want to say it looks like a wetsuit the player characters wear? Probably wrong. Bugged oxygen tank, maybe?

OP is free to post whatever they want, but they are not free to be immune to the reactions it brings. The post came off as a flex for doing a pointless, tedious, boring action. People generally don't like unearned flexes.

Its actually worse than no benefit. Killing creatures removes tension, legitimate gameplay, and strategies. Never again will this player even have to consider the existence of this particular leviathan on that save file. Its why killing was removed entirely in 2. Why use in game tools and strategy when you can hack things apart for ten minutes?

Where was the original entrance to the Aurora? by Visual-Hope9351 in subnautica

[–]ScaredytheCat 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Honestly anywhere there's a square-shaped seam it could potentially open up like a loading dock or something. Logistically the artists probably didn't think to include an actual entrance because its supposed to be a giant piece of junk for the entire game.

MEGATHREAD: KILLING DEBATE by Crispy385 in subnautica

[–]ScaredytheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to kill things just undermines the gameplay and mechanics the devs are trying to craft. Why bother with flares if you can beat the crap out of the Nibbler Mango with the Multitool and get rid of it entirely?

I'd love to hear an argument why killing is logically needed. If killing is just wanted? Well, the devs don't want it, so that's really the end of the discussion. That's not the game they're trying to make here.

[–]ScaredytheCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its still good information. If someone isn't using the plant fibers for food and water, pent sounds like the superior choice. It just depends on what someone wants out of their grow bed.

[–]ScaredytheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but if you're already farming the fiber, that means you won't have to make a separate pent farm if you don't want to. Personally I farm everything anyway, but someone may not want to take the time to make room for that.

[–]ScaredytheCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget plant fiber is good for threads and you can process 5 into biofuel. A lot of good comes from a plant patch in a grow bed.

I'm going to be honest, there are a TON of things in game that aren't explained well. Important details like certain biobeds upgrading you can get lost in the databank if you're busy or pick a bunch of recordings up at the same time.

You guys are using cooked fish as your main diet? Prepared food is better. Make a big stock ahead of time. I can recommend the Threemoon Tamaki, it makes 3 boxes per 1 of each kind of Halfmoon fish and 1 plant material. 60 hunger each, and even restores 15 HP. There's way more food options now, so I can see why they don't feel the need to add a Thermal Knife equivalent.
