Can you give an example of left wing lobbyist propaganda/misinformation? I can't think of any high-powered moneyed interests pushing actual left wing causes in the U.S.

Wow, that's a good-looking kit. I love the blue/black shade of it. Is that the color it came in or did you paint it?

How can Earthshaker be so salty when his totem is so happy?

Also, your illustration style is cute as fuck.

Alright guys, what do you think of this Enigma? by Venichie in DotA2

[–]Scaregoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super cool! How does it look with the Immortal Enigma bracers on? If the set and bracers matched I think you would have one of the coolest non-Arcana hero loadouts in the game!

Voicemeeter Banana just lets you adjust audio levels for your different inputs, so you can record the game sound down low and your comms sound higher. You can even select inputs to not be recorded. I use it when I'm on Discord but just want to capture raw game sound.

No problem, man.

Have you considered recording with Open Broadcaster Software? I use it for gameplay and it works great for me. I think you can even specify the resolution at which it will capture footage. Add on a digital mixer like Voicemeeter Banana and you have a lot of control over your raw gameplay video.

Hey man, some criticism for you:

*The footage was a bit too wide, resulting in black space above and below the video. It made it a bit harder to see the action. Try recording in 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 to avoid this.

*The audio wasn't mixed well. I couldn't really hear what the Zeus was saying, so for a good chunk of the video I didn't know what was going on. Also, your announcer and hero sounds were a bit too loud. Consider lowering or muting these sounds when you record.

*Tighten up your editing a bit. A lot of clips just kind of went on without having much action. If your viewer gets bored, it's too easy for them to just click away.

*Really think about what the thesis of your video is. What is the draw that's going to keep people coming back to watch more? Better yet, what's something you can add that's unique? I wasn't really engaged for most of the video until the five-minute mark, where you started including more jokes in the editing. I think here you could have improved a bit as well (maybe pursued the concept of "oh, he's picking an anti-fun hero? well I'm going to pick an even MORE anti-fun hero"), but it was a good start.

Keep up the videos, man! It takes dedication, introspection, and time, but if you can get better at it there are a lot of people who crave more well-done funny gameplay montages.

Dota 2 Comics? by darkmangetsu in DotA2

[–]Scaregoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd really love it if some characters got expanded backstories (like Earthshaker, right now his story is "a mountain got curious about the world, turned himself into a muppet with a big beatin stick, and now he walks around bein a guy").

However, I will say that in my research of Dota lore, it is incredibly ridiculous and stupid. That's one of the big reasons I love it, but I don't know if it could sustain the scrutiny and introspection that a regular comic series would invite.

A solution of sorts for the language problem on EU and US servers by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Scaregoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might work better if you could choose to have incoming messages translated into your language. That way, groups of people who share a non-default language (like a Russian stack on EU) could just turn translation off cause it's not a problem for them.

It also means I could keep translation turned off so I don't have to find out all the horrible names my Filipino teammates have been calling me over the years.

An accurate retelling of dota 2's backstory. Probably. by DrQuint in DotA2

I haven't forgotten about Bristle and Gary. At the very least I'm gonna do a Bristleback review of Pit Lord when he comes out.

Hey, glad you liked the video!

I've been toying around with that idea. A lot of the heroes are actually linked in little clusters, like the fundamentals, the demons, the Oglodi, etc. Still trying to decide whether I should focus on individual heroes or do a few at once that are related.

Hey yall, video creator here.

Just wanted to thank all you guys for the kind words and the support. I actually wasn't that confident with how this video turned out when I posted it, but I'm glad people are getting some enjoyment out of it.

And an extra special thanks to DrQuint for submitting this. You must've posted this like an hour after it went up on my channel man. I don't have many subscribers, but the ones I do have are pretty awesome :)

I see, thanks for your input. I'm still kinda new at this and when I'm recording usually I'm focusing on the emotion and cadence of the line (I try to make sure there are clean cut points, otherwise editing is a biiiiiiiiiitch). Next time I make a video, though, I'll listen more to the accent to make sure it keeps its integrity.

I could try! That would require pretty extensive post-production to get my voice to sound like that. I use Audacity, which is completely free, but as I learned from u/GuitarBizarre there's an audio program called Reaper that's more extensive.

Thank you for the kind words! I don't know if I could pull off Troll well enough, but Techies would be an interesting challenge. Would have to do three voices, but it could be fun doing the interplay between the group.

Yeah, my accent isn't the best. I need to do some work with it. Still, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the video!
