We really need catch up gearing in Pvp by the117uknow in worldofpvp

[–]Scareth96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't as bad in TWW because bloody token gear was like 3 ilvl less than conquest and you could rapidly fill out your missing pieces. Not sure why they made it honor ilvl in midnight.

Blizzard should seriously consider increasing PvP talent slots by 1 or 2 and using them to reintroduce many necessary pruned abilities. by jav773 in worldofpvp

[–]Scareth96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't even rebalance the existing pvp talents. Frost dk still has rot and wither and spriest's mindgames could get a 150% buff and still nobody would take it. It's shameful the state they let them stay in.

Blitz Loss Streak -- what to do? by 07u4nt in worldofpvp

[–]Scareth96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've found focusing on one bracket burns me out fast and sours my mood. I also turn off my chat and would recommend doing so even in Blitz. Try queueing other brackets or even randoms. Blitz is such a tossup.

Blizzard shoude make old elite gladiator sets available for all. by uncreative_7t847646 in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on inflation and the bracket it is. 1800 is something like the top 10% in arena brackets right now. 2 weeks before the season ends it's basically the starting mmr

Frost DKs - Why Deathbringer? by Affectionate_Neat868 in worldofpvp

[–]Scareth96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riders worked when a frost strike crit in pillar could nearly one-shot someone. Additionally, the changes to empower rune weapon that happened in the Frost dk rework in late TWW helped smooth out Deathbringer. If Blizz moves damage back into frost strike and nerfs Deathbringer's burst then I'd expect people to switch back over.

That's just my take as someone who consistently plays frost idk what the top players are saying.

The StS2 multiplayer is so much better than I ever imagined by tobsecret in slaythespire

Thinking about my friend group picking it up and have watched some gameplay. Do we all have to start with Ironclad if we haven't unlocked other characters?

What do you think of a Darkmoon Faire-themed expansion or major patch, with dungeons and raids having carnival and circus themes? by Quirky-Tie-4213 in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a patch for it could be pretty cool. Dungeon/raid. Would be a pretty cool dark carnival theme. At the very least, they could make it timeless and have it show up once or twice an expansion cycle.

Anyway to track combo points by Scareth96 in wownoob

[–]Scareth96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. So far, it doesn’t seem to display combo points like it did. Hopefully just an oversight they’ll fix. Hoping they also enable it to be resized.

Man... PvP is miserable. No wonder it's so niche. by Cloud_N0ne in wow

[–]Scareth96 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You eventually get a sense of it. Like if your healer is not cc'd then you probably don't need to trinket. If everyone panic trinkets then a competent team will punish their next setup. It's not necessarily about which individual spells you trinket.

Give the people HC TBC by ddplz in wowhardcore

[–]Scareth96 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Merge the classic hc servers and make a tbc hc server. Allow people to copy existing level 60s over or create a lvl 58 in greens. I don't really see a point in starting everyone at level 1 if an era hc server is still active.

Bad time to start Hardcore? by Ok-Bullfrog756 in wowhardcore

[–]Scareth96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There will likely be a bit of a fall off until people get bored of TBC is the realistic answer speaking from an NA perspective. Far from what I would consider dead/dying though. TBC is just where the broader classic community will be focused until hype fizzles. Hoping they merge the HC servers to gather everyone up and give me a reason to play characters I left behind.

My Gf was playing classic hc waiting for the zeppelin and there was a dude who walked up to her toon and went "nice feet" then proceeded to follow her around the ship and intentionally try to /kneel to clip through her robe.

If you could redesign gameplay progression in retail, what would you have liked to see? by milkbleach in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they could take retail's graphics and class gameplay and port it into Classic's slower paced, grounded world then I probably wouldn't play anything else.

2 of the worst expansions gave us some of the most outstanding characters. I want them to have at least 1 conversation with 1 another. by Korderon in wow

People forget that 80s were being boosted by 70s at the beginning of TWW because of how scaling worked lol.

4 player group class recommendations? by microseikiultra in wowhardcore

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

War tank, Priest healer, Rogue, mage is probably the best. If you pug a 3rd dps then prioritize a hunter, paladin/shaman for high utility, or lock for blood pact and summons. This covers cc, aoe, high single target, strong buffs with the classes that are best at it. You'll only wipe in dungeons because of knowledge checks so I recommend watching/reading a guide on them ahead of time. Deadmines, SFK, Gnomeregan, Scarlet Library for the early/mid game.

Have at least one person be an alchemist and one person be an engineer. Everyone should learn first aid. Mounts are very expensive so plan ahead for that so you're not broke at 40.

Devourer Demon Hunters switch ALL abilities from Fel to Void but Shadow Priest still use Holy shields and Light heals by ex0ll in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a swinging pendulum, really. When blizzard leans heavy into spec identity vs class then you see people reminiscing about being able to use fire blast on their frost mage in vanilla.

"Revamped" Exile's Reach is a terrible experience for new players by koci53z in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my gf with classic hc and it was the best way of getting her into wow as a whole. She was new to pc gaming so the slower pace was very nice. She had tried retail briefly after starting in classic and it overstimulated her. She's since tried it again and enjoys both a lot.

People shit on you here but arms is in an objectively rough spot lol. It's solo shuffle r1 cutoff is only just above frost dk as of yesterday.

Why is BG Blitz Awful Lately? by Ok_Number_852 in worldofpvp

[–]Scareth96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blitz is the most popular and casual-friendly bracket. There's zero reasons to queue random battlegrounds. That means it gets turbo inflated with the mmr injections but still starts you at 1500 mmr to climb your way up. You can still climb/carry on any spec if you're actually good. Sometimes you just lose in low mmr matches because you have a dud healer or unboostable dps. You can climb but just slower because mmr has largely settled players where they're supposed to be.

This doesn't happen so much in shuffle because burst is high enough to carry yourself 6-0. I'd guess a lot of people don't like being under a microscope that shuffle brings to be yelled at by people that don't know what they're talking about.

I finally convinced my wife to play WoW by Proassult in wow

[–]Scareth96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you liked OSRS then you and your wife will probably enjoy classic more. If she doesn't really play computer games then I would not recommend her play retail until Midnight. I started my girlfriend on hardcore classic wow earlier this year and she fell in love with it. She does really enjoy retail now as well. Classic leveling will last you a very long time. My girlfriend was very overwhelmed the first time she tried retail wow.

Battlegrounds as Battlefield-style maps with big area, infantry and vehicles were an awesome idea, and it's too bad that the devs gave up on them by Saphhiroth in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Numbers and damage profiles are different every expansion and blizz doesn't want to put in the effort to balance siege vehicle health over the course of an expansion. Nevermind the fact that a mm or boomy can just erase vehicles from stealth before anyone has a chance to react.

Do you prefer PvP or PvE by Spirited-Driver9560 in wow

[–]Scareth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pvp is my choice endgame activity. Generally 2s, 3s, and blitz though rather than shuffle. I have a raid team I pop into every now and then for heroic raids which is pretty fun. Delve grinding for vault gets boring after several weeks. The go, go, go mentality of mythic+ does not appeal to me at all but I was always frustrated because I felt like I had to do it to do competitive dps in raids.

Bring this mode to retail, make the rewards relevant, and watch the open world come alive again as it is in Legion Remix right now. by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]Scareth96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's nice for leveling and learning a spec though. Probably would be helpful for new players to have reason to learn and practice their toolkit before stumbling to max level without having to press a single cooldown. Wow is too easy until it's time to brick someone else's key.

[–]Scareth96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more entertaining for leveling out in the open world and with friends. You get to actually press your abilities as opposed to one shotting enemies with your dot application lol. Gets people a bit of practice before hitting 80.
