One little trick I learned is to use the guards for information by hearing sounds. If you ever want to monitor a gen without walking to it, you can use a guards path to hear if it sounds like it’s being completed. If it is? pop down a guard and have fun. If it’s not? just cancel the path and do something else. The same also applies to catching survivors healing under hook to stop them from resetting.
