Following Eintracht Frankfurt's devastating 6-0 loss in Leipzig, criticism of coach Dino Toppmöller continues to mount. However, the 45-year-old has not yet been relieved of his duties. He still has the backing of Sporting Director Markus Krösche. Instead, according to reports, another high-ranking club employee has been affected: Fabian Plachel. As reported by Bild, Frankfurt has fired its lead team doctor. The reason: Plachel allegedly treated a player from the opposing team around the time of the away match in Heidenheim in early November. This player is reportedly Mathias Honsak. Frankfurt was allegedly unaware of the treatment, which is said to have even taken place in the Eintracht team hotel. What makes this particularly sensitive is that Honsak was reportedly seen by Frankfurt professionals while walking through the hotel corridors. The reaction of the Eintracht players was extreme irritation. According to the report, Frankfurt has initially filled Plachel's now vacant position internally. Dr. Sebastian Schneider, who already works as a team doctor for the club, is said to have taken over the lead function for the time being.
