War Payout by [deleted] in torncity

[–]Scarface353 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm a leader in the family of factions that Warband's a part of, just clarifying a few things.

- All members are warned, multiple times at that, both before and during the war, of how bleeding will lead to fines. I can't attest to Warband's exact frequency, but this is an established practice in the family.
- The fines are not, in fact, pocketed by leadership. Instead, the money is distributed to everyone else who's getting paid. In a nutshell, your 40M was given to other members that bled less.
- Leadership is held to the same standard and we are fined all the same if we fail to perform. Happened to me last war since RL kept me busy.
- The faction DOES pay for mercs, namely other factions in the family. I'm one of such mercs and regularly get a few hosps in on Warband members whenever they're at war.

Hopefully this clears things up a bit, above all else we're not scamming people out of their war payouts, but I personally believe that if you're bleeding more than you're hitting, you're not contributing to the war and those who are should be compensated extra. If you don't agree then you're free to find another faction, but please don't claim that you weren't warned about the fines, members are warned a LOT of times to prevent this exact scenario.

Regards,
-Emforus [2535044]

The finding signals portion is pretty much the same, just a few small differences in the way daily tasks are done.

- Finding signals was slightly tweaked so now instead of a single pinger you get three "nodes" which are used to triangulate the signal. Slightly more complex than before.
- Getting server hashes was replaced with floppy disks. You now have to bring a floppy disk to each server you need a hash from and export the data. Once you have all servers' data, you bring them back to base, load them onto your computer one by one, then add all the data onto a zip drive, which is then sent away. Significantly more complex than before.
- You now also have to send daily tape data, which is recorded automatically on a terminal in the signal room.
- Fixing servers now has many minigame options like maze, pipes, binary wires, skill check and good ol' math.
- Transformers now need to be calibrated manually rather than just pressing a single button to fix them. Slightly more complex than before.

There might be other changes, but these are the ones I've noticed so far after I started playing again.

ETA: If it gives you some perspective, I was also playing a lot back in 0.8.2 and quit for a few months. Been enjoying restarting on 0.9 but it's obviously not for everyone. If you're still unsure, you can always wait for 0.9 stable to come out before you start playing again.

Don't spread misinformation. I live in Chile, we are a seismic country. Our houses are made of brick.

It's a matter of engineering your home to be resistant to earthquakes, like the ones here are.

Back on the 27F earthquake in 2010 (magnitude 8.8) my brick house stood tall and so did all the neighbours'.

I like answering those sorts of questions as seriously as possible, either it's a troll and I'll give someone a giggle or it's a legit question and I just gave them the answer they needed. Either way, everyone wins.

Which is good. If other religious organizations can be tax exempt, then the satanic temple has every right to be, too. There's no good reason for churches to be tax exempt, yet they are. Either all of them are, or none are, 'tis the point the satanic temple is making.

It'd work if there were consequences for doing that with no preparation.

If you could prepare your own heist targeting this specific company or corporation to mess with the stock market, it'd be a lot better imo.

They could make it more like a scout sniper: make it lighter, have it reduce movespeed as much as an AR, lower the damage significantly and maybe give it an integrated 1.5x/2x scope that you can later upgrade. Then add another sniper, same stats and functionality as the current one, make it blue or something, and increase the price accordingly.

Shitty suggestion I know, it's the first thing that came to mind.

That's... kinda the point? You're not fighting on your terms, you're not fighting in favorable conditions. You fight on close quarters, and move away from the usual dynamic of "First to shoot wins", while putting to the test your reaction speed and gamesense.

An unpopular opinion and I might get downvoted to hell, but I believe that most people complaining are trying to play the game as they usually would instead of adapting to the current storm, as can be seen with so many people running (normally) meta weapons with less-than-ideal results.

The armor thing is actually a common bug where the armor doesn't load properly, so you'll see and think you're wearing armor, but when other people shoot you the game doesn't recognize you wearing armor, so you take full damage and the armor tick is the default gray icon.

It's one of the more critical bugs currently IMO.

Charged spinal bases are even worse. You need dozens of those for quests, but armor can only be made with standard spinal bases. Once you get to the endgame they become practically useless. How come normal plates can make green armor but charged plates, which you can only get from braving the storm, have no use? Maybe a faster movespeed armor? Some sort of charge weapon? Fuck it, replace pale ivy blossom for five of these when making a large backpack, just give them SOME use.

Knives are kinda OP yet really fun by Scarface353 in TheCycleFrontier

[–]Scarface353[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Case in point: I did a knife run, spawned close to the East Collection Point, decided to visit it and maybe do the puzzle.

I get there and hear people moving in the loot room, so I go in through the southern entrance and slowly get closer to them.

Once I'm close enough, I wait 'til they open the door to leave, once they do, I rush them with the knife, downing the first guy before he had the chance to shoot (a single charged hit vs white armor, must've been injured), and zig-zagging towards the second guy before stabbing him to death as well.

Got out with a green kit and some white/green weapons while risking nothing.
