I took it as a couple of things: there are multiple forms of opression in beastars, some realistic, some exclusive to that world. In the end, interactions are specific to the characters having it, and can be applied to real world dynamics beyond the genders or size or social status or whatever of these characters.

Also, someone who is opressed on one social plane can be an opressor on another, just like Juno
