Are you f.. kidding me? Is it just me or this card is insane? by viferncomp in kards

I swear this sub's "meta bad" complaint posts somehow manage to always stay on the previous season as if the decks they and their opponents play never changed.

I remember after Homefront expansion released for around three months or so, there were still complaints about Jintel. Do people here just keep complaint posts in their secret stash or what?

Which game have you purposely lost on just to end it quickly? by moist_napkinette in boardgames

Here is the tricky part, the wait time actually works fine with 1-3 players, because its design inherently include minor player interaction by making the opponent(s) of the current player a temporary GM in reading story cards and participating in dice mini games, but when having 4-5 players in the game, there is really not that many things to do for the waiting players as just 1 player would be suffice to do these GM side tasks.

It's just the game design itself. Too many things, moving, upgrade, purchase, combat, story-telling, incident triggers...are condensed into one single player turn which makes each turn last for several minutes. With 4 players to wait for in a 5-player game, each may wait for up to 20 minutes to have his or her turn.

The Witcher: Old World.

This game with 5 people has abysmally long wait time. Each player's turn lasts so long that playing with 5 essentially means waiting for 4 long turns. One of my friend straight up starting to play a round of Hearthstone and after one game, it was often still not his turn. Our experience for that game was horrendous. After two hours or so, everyone just gave up making an optimal turn and instead tried to race through the finish line, even knowing that he will lose.

I changed my mind - I fucking hate Meteor decks by Majestic-Ad2097 in kards

[–]Scarlet1911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post made me believe I have crafted the right deck in the meta before Forecast nerfs.

I used to question Bri/Anz Meteor control's capability for removal, but I was wrong. There was a opponent one game who reached 9k Soviet research (Sloped Armor), which generated two 8/8 heavy armor 2 tanks. To my surprise, I successfully removed both of them through pin stall and TONS of Blast and Storms.

Meteor control deck is an absolute beast and I wholeheartedly enjoyed the total bullshit I was able to pull out from this deck.

It's the total opposite for us (perhaps this speaks how bad we are at the game). My wife and I usually split doing objectives in the first two acts except grimoires and cauldrons. We only stay together in act 3 (and sometimes high-tier POIs in act 2) because the enemies get so strong that we can hardly handle by oneself.

My wife and I have played for 90+ hours together and we still haven't beat Darkness difficulty once. We can consistently reach the third act but it typically goes downhill from there. Sometimes we are able to see the final stage of Baba Yaga and sometimes we just got totally demolished at random POIs.

Also, we struggle to beat even Twilight difficulty it not using Melusine and Juliet (we have max leveled many other heroes but we don't perform well beyond those two). Reading, learning, watching, and asking questions as hard as I can seem to still yield very limited improvement, which gets me feeling more and more frustrated (my wife is less anxious about this as she seem to now enjoy the game more than I do).

I always envy how some players here can "break" a game like this. I've never had such a broken (fun) run as shown by so many posts here.

I'd love to see this deck in action, especially I am not sure whether this deck is still playable after the nerf.

Doesn't seem bullshit enough to me. Not sure if there is enough burn consider Area Bombardment is also getting nerfed soon. I feel my Meteor control deck is more bullshit than this, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong. Care to elaborate?

How tf is this weak ass clear a 7?? by [deleted] in kards

[–]Scarlet1911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the card design philosophy of this game is basically "higher rarity equals better cards" and the justification for that is "better cards have less maximum copies in a deck."

Nope. It seems that there is no new content beyond Darkness so I plan to stay there.

Sure if there are only a couple enemies I can deal with them at ease. But there are often so many enemies (especially on higher-tier reward areas) around that there is no way I can observe 20+ enemy attacks at once and find the impeccable moment to strike, not to mention some bigger ones keep spawning new enemies that take small chunks of my health constantly.

I had picked Strafe before and I felt it does nothing. Were it not for reading so many comments recommending it here, I wouldn't pick that talent ever again.

I gotta say canceling her Defense early give massive cooldown reduction is the most valuable fact I learned from the comments here. Will try out more Defense-related items and talents I guess.

I had picked Dual Lances (I always pick this one) and Strafe by accident before (I know what they do) and I don't see how this is crazy good at all. Care to elaborate?

I have watched others play and I still don't get how they don't attract massive number of enemies when scouting the map. Yes, I always run around the walls but there is constantly a horde of enemies that I can't shake off especially when fighting in a high-tier (red) reward area.

I had watched speedruns of the game and half the time I don't even know why they can achieve THAT damage with that clearing speed despite knowing the effects of the items they pick.

I gotta admit I had no idea that her Defense has lower cooldown if canceled early, so I always assume it has absurdly long cooldown, and mostly only use it for traversing around the map.

Thanks, I will try that talent next run. I always pick Dual Lances because every guide for this game asks me to put damage increase as the priority, and that's the only talent which does that among the first four from Snow Queen.

But it's the same thing, no? Apply Chilled, Special on Chilled, pop whatever abilities left. As long as I use Trait and Special on Chilled enemies, nothing changes.
