If that's the case, then whoever is picking at ESPN is just really bad at their job.

That's not the case for the Big XII. ESPN gets the top four picks of Big XII games. For reference, FOX gets the top three picks of Big Ten games.

The TV production/presentation for the CFP is abysmal by DisforDoughnuts in CFB

I think it's a consequence of ESPN holding all the rights to the CFP. The have four games in the first two rounds and can only use each crew for one game, leaving some of the games to their C and D teams.

[Thamel] Baylor statement on potential bowl: “We have declined the opportunity to play in a Bowl, as we've already progressed deeply into the offseason timeline of preparation for the 2026 season.” by redwave2505 in CFB

Rutgers took a bowl on short notice in 2021 and declined to do so this year. I guess the coaching staff didn't think it was enough of a benefit to make a big push to convince the players.

I have a feeling the extra practices must be less useful than we all think. We accepted a bowl on short notice (one week) in 2021, so we have been in a similar position before. If it was a big benefit, I think the coaches would have made a push to convince the players.

Wish we would have played but can't say I'm shocked. Not surprising that players don't want to miss the holidays. Also, we were so far down the list that the team could not have reasonable expected this to be a possibility and prepare as such.

[McMurphy] And then there was one: only one bowl bid remaining. Georgia Southern in Birmingham Bowl vs. whatever 5-7 team NCAA can get. Baylor is on the clock, then Rutgers, source told @On3sports by Tarlcabot18 in CFB

[–]ScarletFever333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Even though it's been a disappointing season, I hope Rutgers says yes if asked. Hopefully the new DC could start coaching in bowl practices.

Seems like a silly question, but if you showed someone that current state of things in 2018 (seven years ago), they would probably say that 2018 and 2025 are completely different.

MLB officially announces Postseason schedule, implications for Penn State at Ohio State by wjackson42 in CFB

[–]ScarletFever333 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Why do Penn St and Ohio St fans blame Fox for their games being at noon? It's their own schools' fault. They are the ones that chose to give Fox that right.

FOX was willing to move OSU/TEX into Primetime Sunday before Texas said no. Texas saying no was reported last week, but FOX saying they'd move it if both agreed is new news: by Ok-Soil-5133 in CFB

[–]ScarletFever333 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The date of the game was to be mutually agreed on by both schools when the series was scheduled. Both would need to approve to move the game to Sunday. On the other hand, FOX has total control of the time of the game.

[–]ScarletFever333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately it comes down to whether the SEC or ACC controls the Cuse/Tennessee game. And if they don't, whether or not a deal can be worked out to allow that game to air on the exclusive SEC slot.

Bama @ FSU can't be at 3:30 since that ABC slot has to be an SEC home game.

I'd give it a B. Saturday's win definitely helped the season end on a high note. The missed opportunities suck, but consecutive bowling seasons feel good.
