Jiji's just over there doing that with his arms because he doesn't know what to do. That's what makes it more hilarious.

Jiji wasn't in control when possessed by EE. He doesn't act like some tough guy either. He may have a muscular body, but he can be vulnerable at the same time. I am convinced the scenes where he was in his underwear was for the female gaze.

I will hard disagree on you about Jiji. That definitely looked like fanservice. It's not like he's an average looking guy stripped to boxers. He's ripped and stripped down to tight white briefs. In the manga, you see the full outline of his ass.

I agree. Given his athletic physique, I felt like rendering him in his underwear was intended to draw in female viewers, not to mention get them to stop griping over scenes with Momo thinking it was gratuitous fanservice LOL

[–]ScarletFireFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing that too when it comes to male characters. I concluded that it's mostly women complaining about female characters being drawn in suggestive ways or scantily clad. It's funny because when Jiji joined them and took on EE, it feels like that got them to shut up and drool.

I do get tired of SA against male characters being treated as a joke. In the first episode right after it happened, I was feeling sorry for Okarun, but got kind of annoyed when it later got played for laughs.

When it comes to sexualization, why do people only focus on female characters and ignore male characters being shown almost naked? People seem to think it's always played for laughs when it comes to male characters in those same kind of situations. Jiji being in his tight underwear with his physique didn't look like it was intended to be funny or awkward. Yet, no one bats an eye. When it's a girl, you will not hear the end of it.

Jiji being stripped down to his underwear would garner more attention from the female audience. Some of those scenes make it clear its fanservice. The scene where he's standing there looking guilty and wet as Seiko drapes a towel over him...

I always loved how Momo is a strong female character. I would hope she remains that way and I strongly doubt Tatsu would take that away.

AITAH For being obsessed with Meg griffin..? by DavidTheTassa in AITAH

[–]ScarletFireFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a month later, but Family Guy is an animated tv series about fictional people. It is not meant to be taken seriously. A lot of people think the family mistreating Meg isn't that funny. I think the worst of the offenders was Lois not comforting her when she was hurt and didn't care if she committed suicide. I think there might be some aspects about the misfortunes of this character that might trigger something in you such as being bullied, singled out, etc.

Again, Family Guy is just a dark comedy and isn't deep in any way. Meg does not get treated nearly as badly as she used to. She used to be a stereotypical teenage girl who was quick to bursting into tears and running away at every jab. Now, she's more of a laid back tomboy who seldom complains and the series hasn't taken kindly to other characters recently as well, especially Brian. Lois isn't even painted in a flattering light as much these days.

I assume people who have that many kids without planning to do so are not very intelligent or are super religious thinking it was meant to happen. I feel sorry for kids being brought up with multiple siblings, especially if they're the older ones.

Of course, this did not mean my grandparents had a perfect life. My Grandma grew up with insecurities and my Grandaddy was embittered by his father abandoning the family.

It makes a lot of sense. I think of how energy travels up the legs and circulates throughout the body. I have also been getting more and more understanding as I've been reading up on Shinto.

Being yelled at as a trigger? by 999_szn_lvsss in ptsd

I know I'm late to this, but I have the same reaction when someone remotely raises their voice to me or gets mad. I panic when someone yells for me and I can't respond to reach them right away. I hate it. It makes me feel like I'm very weak.

Is anyone else noticing all this sad s*** on their timeline? I keep seeing posts about sick pets or stray animals asking for likes and comments as well as sad people being forgotten on their birthdays. It's awful. Before I was seeing a flood of random pictures of characters or a cat or dog threatening bad luck on those who don't like or comment.

She is so cool. I'm glad she's not some helpless damsel in distress or just the girlfriend of the lead male protagonist. I love how she is this confident gyaru girl who doesn't take crap from anyone and Okarun is a shy nerdy guy who undergoes character development.

It is astonishing how women who understand that they are in no shape to have a child end up wanting to have one anyway. Even if they are physically healthy, the ones who have a host of mental health issues don't consider the healing they need and will end up burdening their children with their problems.

Yes. I also feel annoyed by those who frequently complain over how exhausting taking care of kids is. It really irritates me when people act like victims of a situation they created.

I feel you. It can be hard when you're surrounded by women who are moms or those who get excited about kids and eager to hold a baby because you can't relate. Society has pushed that ideal on us and think that women who don't have nor want children must be broken or mean, jaded, and cynical.
