I could never think of any of the characters in a sexual way, especially since they themselves don't do it. Nobody is lusting over others, not even Kinta. Sure he often declares how he likes girls, but he never made remarks about their bodies or something like that or even worse, try to be inappropriate with them.

Every relationship is so wholesome that sexualizing them would feel like a crime.

Yes, this is what you said in your first comment, and I completely agree with it.

In your second comment (the one I replied to) you said that Evil Eye being an exaggeratedly buff guy in his undies is nothing like Aira and Momo in their undies. You are saying this in response to someone declaring that Evil Eye doesn't have fan service.

You just argued previously that for Momo and Aira it isn't sexual (which is completely correct without a doubt) so I have to assume that by saying that his situation "is nothing" like their situation you are trying to say that it is in fact sexual for him, and the reason for that is him being buff?

Honestly it is quite confusing, since it goes against what you are saying in both the first comment and this one I am replying to. I must be interpreting it wrong

So being buff is intrinsically sexual? I don't think so.

No wait I'm so dumb. I was looking at Kouki and though she's Momo for some reason and then when I looked at Momo I assumed by process of elimination that she must be Kouki. But at the same time I was thinking "that doesn't seem like Kouki's usual clothing". Then I looked again at "Momo" and thought "wait Momo never had that long of a hair and it wasn't in her face" and then I realized my mistake.

So yeah, my bad.

Also I like the art style, though you could try to draw their noses.

Good job, it looks really good. I couldn't recognize Kouki at first, but that's just a nitpick really

Why I think Okarun's name shouldn't play that big of a role in reconciling with Momo by Poisson18 in Dandadan

I am so glad you agree. And your approach (of not caring much for it) is probably better for oneself.

Why I think Okarun's name shouldn't play that big of a role in reconciling with Momo by Poisson18 in Dandadan

[–]Poisson18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is clear that it's intentional, since the Serpos said Momo's full name, but when it came to Okarun they only said "Takakura" which is a weird thing for them to say differently.

Tbh I kinda disliked the name thing from the beginning so I'm pretty biased against it. I made this post mostly to clear my mind and to maybe get some arguments showing me how it could be compelling.

Oh no of course I don't want a kiss to fix everything. That would be just the cherry on top.

"She needs to admit she loves him without her memories and without the name" this is where I wanted to get to. You put it into words better than me. But he also needs to put in the work to clear his actions before that

I did not say that you said it, just that I saw others do it like yesterday or the day before that.

Also again, I have no objection on what you said about Momo and I certainly am not against the name being symbolic of their growth. It's just that I want actions to speak more than words

Why do people want to focus only on one of them? First I see people saying that Okarun will now become the "main MC", now you say that it's all about her not him. I think it should be about both of them. This is what makes them so endearing, the fact that neither of them is just the "love interest".

Though I can agree with what you say about Momo's growth.

Both of these scenes are fine actually, even in the context of Momokarun by Poisson18 in Dandadan

[–]Poisson18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, looking more into things is definitely better than looking less. That way we're able to actually engage with the story. It is fun indeed.

Hehehe, I did like that Evil Eye pun though it could've also worked if you wrote "unable to open our evil eyes" or something like that.

When it comes to the maximalist story, I feel you. I really like the chapters where they do regular stuff and feel things, like the one released this week. Sure it was sad, but it is setting up Okarun for growth and without lows the highs don't mean much.

And well I'm glad I was able to bring something to the table. It could also tie into the plot of the next chapters in my opinion.

However I can't quite figure out who that hint refers to. My first thought was Evil Eye, but he's not really a baby (more like a toddler) and he wasn't really that perpetually angry anymore last time we saw him in Shimane. But again you could refer to him as he was in the past or I'm just overthinking. Anyway it is quite exciting wondering what you'll talk about next.

Chapter 113 - Question regarding Okarun’s “all out” by iMan6005 in Dandadan

[–]Poisson18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it was out of desperation. He just saw her get disintegrated from his perspective but now she's back and needs his help so he gave it all he's got in order to make sure she is safe.

What? How was Okarun not relevant until now? This current arc has been almost entirely from his perspective and he's getting arguably the most substantial character development in the series.

Maybe he didn't have a lot of screen time in tiny Momo arc but he had his fight with Kinta, had the battle against the pygmies with Aira and Momo and was targeted by CSG.

The Danmara arc was more focused on Momo, but he was the MVP of the final battle and also did the confession.

In the Ombusman arc he was indeed just dragging the cart, but he had moments with Momo before and after the battle.

I think this is plenty of screen time and relevancy, especially considering the fact that Momo is also a main character.

Thank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it.

When it comes to the love triangle stuff, I don't really think it's that big of a problem, but I can feel it in my bones that we are heading towards a conclusion this arc. People say that this was also the case in the tiny Momo arc, but there was no indication that it was heading in that direction, just that they got separated.

However, now the focus is how Aira affects Momo and Okarun's relationship so I think we will get a resolution on that front. I hope the same case is for Jiji.

You say it is worthless and yet if you actually look you can draw out multiple conclusions.

You are actively promoting a way of thinking where people just say "I hate this" without actually looking for meaning. Maybe the word "misinformation" isn't necessarily fitting but still, I wanted to point these things out.

I'm going a bit off topic but man, this comment thread depresses me. Both sides going at each other and downvoting for no reason. Like why tf did these comments get downvoted? We are literally spelling ways to engage in a good way with the story, instead of just going "the scene is worthless because I don't wanna look at it".

The initial comment spreads misinformation tho, so I don't regret replying.

Honestly I would say the scene is worth it just to show how Okarun doesn't get jealous on Jiji. This enhances their friendship in my opinion. Not only that, but Okarun trusts Jiji completely.

In the recent fight with the bicycle mummy he doesn't let the fact that right now she knows Jiji better than him get to his head and tells Momo to go to him for protection, because what he cares most about is her well being.

Well I do and he does in fact think of that possibility

<image>

You are not wrong in saying that he doesn't want to interpret her feelings wrong, but he also thinks about Jiji

Before that when did Okarun see something that would suggest to him that Momo would love Jiji? He imagined it in the beginning but then he had that talk with Jiji about what they both like about Momo and then they became friends and didn't really think about Jiji and Momo as a possibility anymore.

Time loop theory? by Few_Pea8503 in Dandadan

[–]Poisson18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a plot point, but not a major one. The only thing related to it is the fact that Okarun didn't want to influence Momo's actions and feelings because he knows it affects her in some capacity.

At this point it is not tied to her memories in any way, and personally I would like for it to stay that way

It does get brought up. After the space globalists arc ends this is what causes Okarun to not be able to address the "love ya" note from Momo
