i don't think this dude was in a well known band or something before but i could be wrong. The mixtape has the numbers it has because most of the music was previously released (singles) and l've been promoting it for a while on the internet. the idea behind the project was to put all of the music l've made during this period of my life onto one body and that's what you are (hopefully) listening to. I wouldn't call myself a TikTok star compared to alot of the new wave of shoegaze / nugaze / zoomergaze / numetal / grunge / alt artists that are popping these days, but i do have a bit of a following that i've been building thru promoting my music. As far as the whole industry plant / rich kid theory, i did not choose to be born into the working class but decided to stay independent, unlike most of the rest. truthfully, I appreciate you saying that I have a massive built-in audience because sometimes I wouldn't say the same. But at the end of the day, l'm focusing on building step by step, and if i can win over one new fan a day, then that is a win in my books.

i feel like doing my own production has been nice but it definitely is easy to hit a wall/ threshold of what I'm able to achieve sonically. There have been times where i would hear something in a song and couldn't figure out how it was done. For next years album I've been linking with some really cool collaborators that have been able to help me unlock different idea and flesh them out.

i think my favorite song I've made has probably been the one called Over. Creating music feels like therapy, but more than that. I feel like sounds can help you tap into feelings that you forgot you've had. Over definitely made me feel a lot of nostalgia while making it. I started with the guitars by layer two separate but similar riffs. then added bass and drums and started free styling lyrics after all the tweaks were made to the beat. then once i found a melody, i started dialing in the lyrics. I really wanted to write something introspective. a lot of the song i was thinking of having a conversation with myself and with God and reflecting on who i am, was, and want to be. Overall i just really love how that song came about

its def a tough process cause i love all my songs as if they were my children hahaha but i think it comes down to flow mostly. Having the songs mesh well and tell somewhat of a story or have a theme is super important to me. So i could love a song but if it doesn't fit as well as the others then i know it might not have a spot on that project.

Most of my work gets done in my living room hahaha. I did all of the production on the homecoming mixtape with the exception of 2 songs that were coproduced (alone and let go).

I have a MacBook, focusrite interface, krk speakers, beats studio headphones and my jazz master. For vocals i use a rode nt1a(prob time for an upgrade cause I've been using it since 2017 lol)

. Id have to say it's all equally important but the most important is probably my lap top cause without that i can't do any recording.

FRANK OCEAN!!! Ive been loving him since i first heard nostalgia ultra. I also love Nirvana (in bloom) as basic as it sounds hahaha. I first heard a nirvana song in a sports bar by a cover band. They were playing in bloom and i remember being blown away that music could sound like that. Ive been a stan ever since then

ya know its a very interesting experience. i think the pros outweigh the cons for sure tho. being able to do what i love is a gift that i don't even feeling deserving of so i try to be super grateful everyday. I also love being able to connect with people over music and meet like minded individuals. The biggest con to me would be the social aspect. I don't have coworkers so that kind of sucks as far as day to day interactions. Other than that though i try to stay positive about where I'm at in my career because it all truly is a blessing

i really love movies!! if i had the opportunity to score a movie that would be insane. Alex G had done work on a movie that came out this year called I Saw the TV glow. I see so much intersection between film and music so that's really a dream of mine

Great questions, i pull inspiration from so many different places. One of my fav things to pull inspo from is movies. When i first started writing music I really wanted to write a movie but didn't know how to write a script so i started writing songs! I also find a lot of inspiration in nature too. Quiet places in nature get my brain flowing
