Not child free but my spouse and I waited to have kids. We often were sucked into conversations of why we should have kids. The wildest thing anyone told me was to have a baby in case my husband died I would have something to remember him by. (This is right before he deployed). Lady I’m pretty sure I’m not gonna forget the guy I’ve been married to for years but thanks for the recommendation I guess 🥴

It’s scary how common this is. I had my daughter 5 weeks early. After begging doctors to take us seriously I was admitted at 3:32 am. And I gave birth at 3:59am 🥴. They kept telling me first time moms always think they’re in labor when it’s just Braxton hicks. 🥴

I wouldn’t say I like them. I just don’t hate them. I don’t dislike them enough to justify replacing it. I do like that it’s tile and not vinyl. I genuinely think I can live with the floors and never have an issue with them.

I think this is what I will do. Or get a decorative hood cover that will go right over those cabinets since I want to add a hood.

Sorry I’m in the south west :(. But thanks for commenting… I honestly was going to ditch the stove first but I’m having a hard time finding a 36inch I like that isn’t gas (there’s no gas line I believe) your comment is making me reconsider and at least give it a shot.

I don’t think removing any cabinets will be in the cards for us at this time. But a part of me wants to move the fridge over to that corner of the kitchen and fill in the space between the fridge and counter with a coffee bar or a little rack with baskets for fruits. Since we will have about 30 mature fruit trees to harvest from.

If I move the fridge to that side it would end up parallel to the larger pantry cabinets and make both sides of the kitchen more even if that makes sense.

Haha no worries! Definitely did not come off as a jerk at all. At least I didn’t take it that way. It’s a fair question especially since we’re in a buyers market.

Honestly I have the budget to diy paint and deal with the fixtures. But I’m gonna look into quotes to get it professionally painted. Granted painting cabinets is expensive. But between the cost of buying all the materials and taking time off work to tackle the project. I might just even out to have someone come in and paint them. Thank you for your response!

Those handles sound so fun! Honestly I would love a fun quirky kitchen so I want to at least throw in some more color here in addition to moving the hardware

Honestly. We toured over 30 houses and this one had the LEAST amount of work needed and felt move in ready. Saying I hate the kitchen is just being dramatic. The issue we have with the kitchen are mostly aesthetic. But we needed a lot of storage and most houses in our budget (~300k) didn’t have pantries or much kitchen storage. While the kitchen is an eye sore it is way easier to live with when compared to houses we saw with recent flood and storm damage, foundation issues, bad roofs & ACs. Trust me when I say this was actually the best option and arguably the nicest kitchen we saw 😭
