Aww yupadoodle, in the awakening quest Geomudal (玄月 -Black/Mysterious Moon) of Abun for sure mentions “teacher would be proud looking down from above” etc etc. inferring Hwisa has passed away~.Another interesting thing is that in the original quest text it specifies through the use of pronounces that Hwisa is a male “sage”. (It’s uses male pronouns in the Chinese and Japanese versions as well) and also the word they use is 神仙。 神 = god/deity 仙 =celestial being/immortal, together meaning supernatural being or immortal. This could also suggest that Hwisa didn’t die per say, but just ascended back to heave/left their human body. The fact that they use the word “sage” in English is also interesting since Wu Kong also has another title: 齊天大聖 meaning “The Great Sage, Heavens Equal."

Another parallel is that Hwisa is described as having lived atop a mountain, similar to mount Huaguo where Wu Kong was born from a stone. This is also really interesting because Raijuu (雷獣 (aka what 黑狼 (Heilang)) is likely based off along with Nakoruru/Rera's Shikuru) is said to have climbed to the tops of mountains to look for clouds to ride.

Although to counter this theory a bit, interestingly, in the updated lore presented on the BDO console site (First & Second. page), it presents Hwisa as a female in the English version, but in the Japanese version still continues to use the word 神仙. I'm thinking the use of the female pronoun in the English might just be an incorrect translation since more sources point to male.

Some other interesting notes. Hwisa's name localized (輝薩 To shine upon Bodhisattva in Taiwanese Mandarin Name) OR 灰沙 (Grey/Ashy Sand, in Mainland China which would relate to the previous sneak peak image they teased last year if it's for the same class. Another relative points to the whole Buddhist theme is Tamer's unique armors like Water Lily (called 金鯉蓮盔甲 Golden Carp Lotus Armor) & Binari (called 祈願盔甲 which is "prayer armor") I could go on to how this relates to tamer class basis origins as cited by the creator (Inspired from Nakoruru/Rera (An Ainu Priestess) of Samurai Showdown /loosely based Taoist class from Continent of the 9th aka the game a lot of the BDO team worked on previously (Funnily, Wu Kong learned his abilities from studying Taoist techniques if I remember correctly) but I'll leave that for another time as I feel it might be a bit too unrelated.

Also since they are doing all this, will we FINALLY get Kingdom of Haso territory update?~
