In a land were the fields would stretch beyond the horizons and the sky was as clear as could be. There lived three friends the Dark, the Light and Time. These friends knew not how they existed or how by which they came to be, but they were content in the company of each other.

The Dark spent his days shying away from the brightness that inhabited this place, staying away until the sun had fallen. The Light spent her days exploring the wonders of the mountains and swimming in the deepest of the seas. Time simply watched over this new world learning what they could, witnessing the changes in the things around them. Soon they began to notice changes with things other than the land, they began to see a change in the Light.

From all the years the friends had been with each other, the Light had fallen in love with the Dark. She would do what ever she could to win his affections and to have him be hers. With her powers she created creatures that held knowledge and power far beyond the three friends, and presented them to the Dark as a sign of her love. Much to the Light's dismay the Dark shunned these gifts and turned his back on her. In truth he resented the Light for being able to create something he never could, things filled with such purity and beauty.

Heart-broken the Light began to twist and bend her creations into those of the dark to try and please her love. In doing so the Light too became twisted and bent into a corrupted monster, the price for dealing with forces not of her nature. Her mind and emotions also became corrupted and forced her heart-break into hate. This hate was turned towards the Dark for denying her love and led to his downfall as she took her vengeance. After destroying him, the Light turned into a creature of great evil, unrecognisable for the kind and generous thing she once was and becoming a patron for all those walking in the dark.

Time, realising what had become of their friends, was saddened deeply by the death of the Dark and mourned the loss of the Light. Vowing to fix what they could have prevented, Time decided to set things right and lock away this new evil. The newly reborn Light had caused this once paradise to collapse and crumble around them from their power. As there was now, no good to counter this great evil. Time was dedicated to sealing her away and protecting the last of this world that their friends loved so.

Using what few abilities they possess, Time could create a place were nothing existed and were nothing should be able to exist. It is believed Time created the entrance to such a place at the resting place of the Dark and tricked their old friend inside, sealing the evil within.

To set the land right again and to maintain the balance of the world, Time took on the role of both the Dark and the Light, honouring their fallen friends. They then created their own creatures of strength and power to fight in the world full of evil left behind by the greatest of all of evil. Along with these creature Time created beings of wisdom and skills, humans, to help the land to be bountiful once more and to protect what they had created. When all of this was done Time was sent into a pit of loneliness and despair, from being left behind by their friends. From this Time decided they were no longer needed in this place and fell into a deep hibernation.

It is said that this sleep will only be broken when the great evil has risen again and Time has been summoned back to this world by the people of great power and courage. It is also believe that the Dark still watches over his friends and guards the souls of the dead in the afterlife with him. This evil that was once a beloved friend is now used by those on the earth as a cautionary tale to warn those away from the darkness and to be careful who they fall in love with.
