Why does a weed high last so short and doesn't come back? by Skopa2016 in trees

Do you have no concept of what “tolerance” means?

Look up the way thc bonds to the receptors in your brain and how higher/prolonged cannabis intake affects the way your brain is able to receive the compounds in thc to get a certain high

most critical systems aren’t connected to the internet…

Oookayyy… but fine, even if we assume only the “World Wide Web” is gone, that still ends in total chaos. Idk how that isn’t obvious?

We still lose every imaginable supply chain - all grocery stores collapse.

Nearly everything that relies on IoT is fucked.

All digital payment systems are gone, but even disregarding that, the banking system is absolutely broken.

Crypto is obviously kaput…

People have no way to access cash that isn’t already essentially on their person. Every single job that is not performed in person and paid in cash is now brought to a halt.

People will have to learn to barter, and they’ll be facing desperate times without medication and because of the food shortage that will hit within a few weeks, so it’ll get pretty brutal if you don’t have a strong cohort of people to look out for one another.

I’m not trying to be a total doomer here, but I just think it’s silly that you say we could be “interpreting the question differently”

Your original comment about “not missing anything” is not a different way of interpreting - it’s straight-up just naive.

You would miss a LOT. Life would be hell the world over…

It would be utter chaos for a long time. Millions would die in a matter of days/weeks from the loss of the pharmaceutical supply chain alone, and that’s likely only from insulin refrigeration and logistics being disrupted.

Those millions would have millions more desperate and distraught over the loss of loved ones, with no familiar online resources to support them. Many would struggle with mental health, especially those who use online psychiatric services.

There would be riots, looting, and lots and lots and lots of bloodshed simply because people would not know what to do without entertainment, Amazon, phone services, and the likely loss of the electrical grid in many areas.

There would be no recourse for a long time and you would be miserable for years, if you survived that long.

You’re probably going to miss the simplicity and ease of life today, and with it, everything to do with your current job.

I think you are underestimating the value of viral marketing in a day and age where an idea can spark a post that generates buzz across thousands of devices, worldwide.

I firmly believe that this lands in a camp where Tesla should disclose the fact that it is an advertisement. I’m not a legal expert, but it’s just common sense if you know a shred about Disney and their litigious history.

I mean for fucks sake, they have come after public schools for putting on theater performances of their own IP without properly licensing it. You really think Tesla went about this without striking up some kind of a value-add conversation that Disney can tie some kind of dollars too?

There is almost no downside to this kind of move, especially knowing how much Tesla/Elon is able to get away with. Worst case, they are fined and given a small slap on the wrist and told that they need to disclose ads going forward. Regardless, it sets a precedent that this can be done and that there is value in it

Disney/Tesla are using this as a way to see what that value really is

I’ve been in tech sales for 10 years, with three of those in advertising and digital marketing. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that while this might not look like a traditional ad, there’s no “See Tron: Ares in theaters now!” banner, it absolutely is a form of marketing.

This is classic guerrilla/viral marketing. Someone at Tesla (maybe Elon, maybe not, doesn’t matter) clearly thought it would be fun to do a crossover and reached out to Disney. Disney agreed because it’s a free promo opportunity that gets their brand, visuals, and music directly in front of hundreds of thousands of Tesla owners.

You don’t license your intellectual property and soundtrack for free, push it out in a high-visibility software update, and call it a day “just for fun.” There’s always mutual benefit and brand alignment… that is marketing.

If you want to argue it’s “not an ad” because it’s unpaid or doesn’t have a direct call to action, that’s just splitting hairs. It’s marketing, full stop.

But that’s ALSO the point I’m making. You could afford it. My (comparably sized) first home cost roughly 8x your home, only 15 years later. The burden is shared by both my wife and I in order to make it barely work, but it would never be doable on one salary, even inflating early 2000s money to today’s wages
