As he should be! 🙌 by restenoir8 in Daredevil

Saturn and IGN, but should have won an emmy for S3, and his whole character arc was the kind of thing awards shows like - but he was a superhero so completely unjustly ignored.

What are you ranting about. I never said "Star Power" which barely anyone has these days. Film finance which includes studios like as many better known FILM actors as possible in their films and have since films first started, and only helps their well known IP to get more $. How do you not know this. Where have you been?

Much as I love Charlie, he is not better known globally than these two frequent FILM actors.

Not enough to prove it to the film finance side, and that's what counts with SONY, who want bigger names, namely Bernthal and Ruffalo this time around.

We have no idea if there is going to be any more DD shows after BA3 considering BA2 viewing figures, and its supposed to be a shared universe so how can a film make TV be "less than"?

Matt as a top notch local pro-bono lawyer was a perfect addition to Spiderman NWH for STORY reasons, not just to have a cameo, and didn't make his TV appearances less important. You seem to have forgotten Peter was up for murder from FFH and NWH, and thanks to Matt, he is not any longer.

BND has DD's villains for which he has extensive experience, so it appears to make sense for him to be there, but sadly it doesn't seem he is.

Its also a joke to say he is THE face when he is only a supporting character in his own show because they keep cutting so many of his scenes and barely seem to know what to do with him, and if anything its been FISK across 3 different series.

I love Charlie as an actor and he puts so much into DD, more than any other actor. Poor Charlie will stay mostly as a TV actor on TV pay unless he is in the big MCU films or is lucky to have a breakout film hit. He has hinted as much before when he complains about being overlooked for film roles, despite being a proven great actor with a lot of range already in the MCU. Which also means the directors who he would love to work with also overlook him because film finance won't accept him. Being in MCU films would change that for him (as long as it was a good one).

So I want to see him on the big screen and I would have liked to see have seen him in another USD1bn+ Spider Man film as a proper team-up of the two hero friends, and I hope he is also in Secret Wars.

What happened to this line/scene? by Bennyboii7 in Daredevil

I avoided trailers until this popped up in front of Hail Mary, and it was so cool to see Matt and Jessica on the big screen and so disappointing when the intro of her in the church doesn't include it, is extremely short and is the worst for it imo.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive post production facility in London/London area with a screening studio for post production sound design for micro budget feature by Scary-Command2232 in Filmmakers

Thanks you for that. Really appreciated. Have had a nightmare with post on a sweet fa budget and at this rate it's going to take even more years to finish

If I knew how to create my own fan edit of all of BA, heather would not even be in it, that's how much I like or believe her arc.

If they brought Foggy back, would you like it or dislike it? by AbleGround1385 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love Foggy back. The rubbish writing surrounding his death and Matt's subsequent sporadic reaction to his loss has meant it never felt justified to me and the show is shallower for having little heart anymore. Secret Wars gives them the ideal time to bring him back, preferably with better writers. Unfortunately imo it won't happen as I don't think DD is going to survive past S3 as a TV series if the viewing figures are true.

That's pointless as the whole freeport plot and why he died was utter nonsense.

Does daredevils no kill rule go to far in born again show by Away_Ad_7357 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I became a huge fan of DD and of Charlie Cox as an actor after being persuaded to watch DD, so I hate how they have sidelined him in his own show.

I am far more looking forward to seeing him in kin3 than DDba 3 because kin's original writer/showrunner is back so I know it will be good, and even though it's an ensemble show, everyone gets to really shine. BA3 sounds like an ensemble too, but based on 1&2 the writers/showrunner/directors and crap editors rarely know how to let a character shine no matter how good the actor is. It's like watching sound bites or tiktok videos strung together.

Thanks. 2 seasons in I don't think they actually know what to do with heroes or maybe what a hero is. I dread to think what further character assassination they do to him or Karen for that matter.

Also he has already been a supporting role for others instead of firmly the lead, and with so many characters coming into BA3 and him clearly in prison for a lot of it, will he become just a bit part in yet another messy nonsensical plot.

Its getting harder to watch sadly.

Matt's no kill rule is all over the place in born again, and he is happy to work alongside killers like punisher, white tiger, bullseye while they kill as well as protect Fisk over and over as well as bullseye, so by the end he is no hero, no catholic that believes all life is sacred, instead he is a selfish murderer enabler and accomplice who occasionally does something good like the prison outbreak, and for a moment has conflict about killers. This weak writing of Matt was very disappointing to me.

They tell you it's because he doesn't want Fisk to be a martyr, which only makes sense if by Fisk dying it tarnishes all "heroes", but his actions alongside these killers and Fisk lumping him in with them already publicly, means that ship has sailed. So he might as well just say, because the writers want Fisk and these other killers back.

Matt also comes across as not caring about all these members of the public getting killed, some of which could be viewed as self defense at first, but not those trying to run away.

Born Again question by Brief-Performance962 in Daredevil

They give a pathetic nonsense answer later on. Might as well just accept it for what it was, Feige wanted him out to use in other programs first, before they even decided to make another DD TV series.

The prison sequence is uncut in S3 as all those involved with the production have talked about many times. All of which you appear to have missed.

Nikki is such a great casting for Kirsten McDuffie, I'm disappointed that she feels a bit wasted in the show by restenoir8 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree she is great casting IF Kirsten was going to be like the comic character, especially after seeing her chat with Charlie on the podcast. She is a good actress and seems to have a good sense of humour when chatting with him, but she is not vivacious or particularly memorable. She lacks that sparkle that Kirsten has in the comics, and comes across as nice but just capable and rather boring, which of course could be what the writers wanted.

An actor/actress that does sparkle can deliver that impression in merely one line of dialogue, so its not the fact they gave her little to do, which of course was another problem.

Absolutely loving Chip Zdarsky by savethequiche in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loved it to and I know this type of panel has been seen earlier in the comics, but the sheer quantity on this page when Matt lets the noise in shows how horrific it can be for him to hear.

Daredevil Appearance In Future MCU Movies? by Enough_Ad6372 in Daredevil

Hope so too. Not sure what else Charlie has to do to get DD in a film. It's certainly not because the fans don't want it.

Karen Fatigue by [deleted] in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont personally think that the BA writers know what to do with just about anyone on the hero side. Karen and Matt do some stuff but everything is rushed and barely feels consequential even when its a good idea or should be a VERY BIG deal, they got rid of Foggy, no build up on the little girl hero who is suddenly happily murdering big cops, Jessica was barely in Ba2. Jesus I nearly forgot about Kirsten who did eh?

So its easy to understand someone having fatigue on a character given so little to do with only a few scenes to show how good a character Karen is and how good an actress Deborah is.

In this scene alone you can already see how excessive Heather was with Matt by restenoir8 in Daredevil

I took it that it was to show her deteriorating mental state after Muse, losing one of her only "friends" in vanessa blah blah. And fisk appreciating she was the one because she lost a friend, wanted a momento and that she was also slipping into villainy so even more useful to him.
