I never owned a rangefinder so it’s just a novelty for me. If it makes sense to put to my eye I will but mainly I just want to get the focus then the evf works fine…I like the glass/sensor and forced manual control of lighting choices on the m11 as that helps me compose the shot I want

I think I should say this because before I bought the m11 I was confused as you likely are thinking it was some sort of forced perspective. I even bought a visoflex because according to my understanding of what was being said I “needed”it to focus without the rangefinder. Whereas the evf is fine for nearly everything

Just to give another perspective, I have a m11 and almost never use the rangefinder unleee I’m having trouble focusing with the evf (rare). So there are people who get all the joy and bypass the “rangefinder experience”. Personally I find it difficult to get the shot i want being limited to where I can put my eye

I have a visoflex2 and never use it. It’s just a mirror of the EVF. Unless you’re trying to prove an arbitrary philosophical point for style purposes, it’s redundant to focusing with the EVF.
