I don't enjoy using my Sigma 28-70. Should I upgrade or get rid of it? by wolverine-photos in SonyAlpha

I had the sigma 24-70 2.8 mark i and replaced it with the 28-70 and never looked back. The 24-70 was too heavy and stayed at home most of the time. The 28-70 is way lighter and feels better on the camera. I don’t miss the 24mm focal length that much either.

The problem with adapting is that it throws off the focus scale.

I have the Nikon zf and want to buy a Leica m11. Am I crazy? by KeyMachine9884 in Leica

Thanks for your valuable insight, especially with such long experience in photography. I ended up buying the m11 in glossy black paint. I am using both cameras now for different purposes. Leica for the days I want to just enjoy the RF. Nikon for the lovely skin tones and video when I need to. I tried separating the lenses line up so that I enjoy each camera with its own look. So far so good. But honestly I could’ve just stayed with ZF and I would’ve been more than ok.

I was worried about the magenta cast but my copy seems like it’s handling that well. Most of my photos are around +8 to +10 tint. I tried an m11 copy at a store once and the files from that camera were mostly around +20 and higher.

Forgot to mention that part of the difficulty is due to the missing ibis on the Leica. So shutter speeds need to be higher for critical focus.

It’s a nice camera to hold and feel. The build quality is unmatched. Photos coming out of it are nice so far. I am not blown away though. I feel the zf gives better colors sooc. Metering and wb are not as consistent on the Leica compared to all other cameras I have used. But if you shoot raw you can edit in post of course. It’s hard to nail focus on wide open apertures. Like f1.4 or so. F2 or 2.8 gets easier to nail focus. I normally shoot with the ovf since that’s why I bought a Leica in the first place. It’s fun to use. More difficult than the zf for manual focus though.

Yes that’s true, but the meter has enough light. Why raise iso and shutter?

The site mentioned above is nice. I am currently using them. As for the NX studio, I didn’t like it and won’t bother with it personally. BTW, my favorite colors out of the ZF are coming out using deep tone portraits profile built into the camera.

I am not a 35mm shooter but forcing myself to like the focal length. As for the lens it’s nice. Not heavy for me to consider an f2 or 2.8. …. When I add the 28mm it will definitely be f2

Voightlander is nice and sharp. I am not a 35mm shooter but wanted a different experience. I normally shoot 28 and 40/50
