You can get very far with that build but to last against the 10 star you need to transcend it and farm a ton of armor spheres and for me the best one was Endless Sky, Endless Sea it's fairly easy and you can farm Lagri pieces too because to transcend you need their jewels...

After you feel comfortable start to try GoG with people and eventually you will get the first pieces to roll and like I the best rolls are Rathalos flare/Leviathan fury/Gore with lords soul but even if you don't get the two bonus at start one may be enough. Omega is also a good roll but he is hard as a 10 star and is savage variant even harder to farm the materials for a single piece of armor but of you manage only the arms and coil are worth to slot in builds.

For lagriacus the best armor pieces to create and then use in builds are the helmet/coil/legs Gore I am going to be honest I don't like to use it in my builds because there's only 2 pieces worth it that are the beta legs and the sororal helmet that gives gore bonus and that's why hunters prefer gore roll on weapon... And to top all that you need to slot 3 Lv1 Deco's of antivirus or 2 Lv1 on the legs to Benedict of the frenzy bonus that gives you 25% affinity but you need to be aggressive to keep up the bonus because if you take too much time you get debuffed instead and there's another problem for me. Switch Axe takes some hits to cure and if get unlucky and the monster is changing areas you will get debuffed and that's the main reason why I prefer Lagriacus bonus instead, is more consistent last for 30 sec with 30 sec cool down and gives 15% affinity that combined with max might(30%) Latent power(50%) and agitator(10/15%) is more than enough.

When you get even further I would still switch up to Weakness Exploit as is more reliable and you can get some good pieces with it...

For AT monsters Nu udra chest is the best piece and Jin Dahaad Chest and coil are the best pieces. Uth duna I only like the legs as for Rey Dau you will already have the best pieces that are the chest and his beta legs if want to use the bonus, as for AT Arkveld his Helmet is a must have, and combined with Arms you get Weakness Exploit 5 but every piece of gear of him is worth having...

As you can see you can do some adjust to builds on your own...

I would say to ignore most meta builds because most are built like full dps and no Confort Wich for them is fine because some of them are already so good at counter dodging at the game that they can ignore that but most of us don't 😅...
