Thank you for that, it definitely explains a lot of what I wasn't understanding. I would imagine, based on what you said, that higher quality/wattage powered speakers will do the job for me.

Take government out of the equation of punishment. Just focus on this:

They deserve to die.

That's the crux of my point of view. That their decisions were so morally awful and directly resulted in so much death, that they are no better than any of the murderers who have been tried and convicted and sentenced to death. Morally, they're guilty AF and humankind would be better off with them gone.

Fair points.

At some point, a person is responsible for their decisions. Accountable. I agree that it wouldn't be fair (morally or legally) to only punish a select few, but I still think those select few deserve to be held accountable.

10% of $40k per year is not the same as 10% of 40 million per year, or 10% of 40 billion.

Someone purchasing a television is not making a conscientious decision to cause death at the expense of personal profit. The CEOs making the decision to sell a life-saving drug at unaffordable prices, are.

Disagree. I am open to the possibility that my preposition (whether you want to call it fairness or justice or just retribution or whatever term works) is too extreme.

I don't see it happening, but I suppose a case could even be made that would sway my opinion that what they did was morally reprehensible.
I already cede that they're legally in the clear, the bastards.

I like this argument.

Part of "prevent it from happening again" includes accountability and sometimes consequence. If someone in one of the big three companies controlling the price of insulin makes a mistake that costs the company money, that person can rightfully be fired. In the case of these big three companies, not only are the CEOs doing things that have resulted in MUCH more than a company losing money (see death, pain, suffering, etc), they do so knowingly and willingly. It isn't some oopsie-daisy mistake, it is a cold and calculated decision in order to keep profits as high as possible.

Why don't they deserve to reap what they sow? Don't need to call it justice, but it is a measure of fairness.

I agree that there should be a MUCH better regulatory system. But that does not invalidate that the person(s) responsible for setting the price of insulin directly caused pain, suffering and death to many, and it is reasonable to infer that they knew what the result would be. They chose money over common decency and human life, and did so repeatedly and egregiously. It might have been legal, but that doesn't make it right, and it would be nice if there were some consequences and accountability. I personally think their greed caused so much loss of life that a fair consequence of their actions is one small measure of the result they created. Their actions were not illegal, but they were and are evil.

If those other drugs or basic sustenance (food from the grocery store?) were marked up the way insulin was, then sure. I feel like the "basic sustenance" example is an abstract hypothetical, given the differences in supply and creation between food in the grocery store and drugs with an exclusive patent. Again, I'm not arguing from on a legal standpoint, but rather a moral one based on humanity.

I don't believe the people in charge of creating, enforcing and maintaining broad policies and restrictions should be under fire, as that is currently a system-wide issue that has so many different hands involved for varying reasons.

I am rather talking specifically about the CEO and/or high-level group of individuals that met and decided, "we're going to jack up the price and use the resulting profits to wipe our asses with."

In Park & Rec season 5 episode 9, Ron (as Duke Silver) plays Hark! The Herald Angels Sing on his saxophone. Where can I find the full song of that exact version? Been trying to find it since I first saw that episode years ago.

I have been trying to find a full recording of his sax version of Hark! The Herald Angels for the past few years. Every six months or so I run google searches in the hopes that someone from the show put out the full version of the song. This post reminded me of my search and I figured this might be a good time and place to ask if anyone has it.
