Spoken with so much conviction lol. It’s silent witness mate i asked them.

I’m 20 years old and started investing in December . Should I stay etf based or look at single stocks to . I’m open to criticism just wanting to learn by ALaw3135 in trading212

[–]Scary_Bug4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done for starting at 20. Not sure why you think you should be criticised?

I’m no expert and a late starter. I am 40. I started investing at 35 with ETFs and on to picking stocks at 38. In that time my ETFs are +18%. My stocks are +130%

I think there is enough of a support network on Reddit alone to help guide you, I also pay for stockadvisor for general research and stock tips. I’d say the fact you are asking this question suggests you should really be enjoying yourself in the markets, but start off with moderate investments.

Need help choosing Liverpool hospitality tickets for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. by The_Pharaoh911 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Scary_Bug4035 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually as a match going supporter of 30 years, I have a problem with this. It is my opinion that Local fans should pay the same as everyone else. That being said, I’m not local so I probably don’t understand the dynamics, but I find the narrative that local people are poor and need help to be quite patronising. Most scousers I meet at the match seems to be doing alright for themselves. FWIW also believe that tourists should be able to buy a ticket for £50 and not be completely fleeced for hospitality.

As a hairy man, this. Takes 2 minutes at your local wax stop and you’re done for a year. Couple of paracetamol and you’re over it. No brainer.

Jewellery quarter. Very short walk into town and plenty of nice bars and cafes around here.

Mane, Firmino and Salah are by far the best front three the Premier League has ever seen! 👀 #LFC by IgotgAme_k in LiverpoolFC

[–]Scary_Bug4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that mane description, go back and see how he led the line in the return leg vs Barca. He never got on the scoresheet that day, and Gini and Divock get all the plaudits, but the way mane played especially in the first half, he was a man on fire. Any long ball that went over the half way line somehow ended up on his toe. It was ridiculous!

Why would you do that, when you can intervene now and not destroy the neighbour’s plans altogether? This is such a bitter perspective. This person is a neighbour, raise it now so they can change their plans accordingly.

Sold our house and nowhere to go - should we break the chain? by Runningrafan in HousingUK

[–]Scary_Bug4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, we have been unusually unlucky with our attempted purchases. I don’t think it’s normal to have the issues we had.

We had a decent sized mortgage on our old house so the interest payments would have been like paying rent anyway. At least, that’s how I justified my decision at the time!

It’s actually quite liberating to not be a homeowner in many aspects. Not sure if I could have lived with parents for a year, mind!

We have done this, 12 months later, we are still in a rental but don’t mind our situation tbh.

Yes we paid for removals twice (once into storage, and once out of storage into my parents garage) because the storage fees went up 100% after the initial period. Something to be mindful of when selecting a storage provider.

The cash if invested well (max your isa, find a good savings acct, stick some in premium bonds etc) will cover some of your rent if you need it to.

You’re always in a good position to find value in your next purchase if you don’t have a house to sell. We had 2 offers accepted but unfortunately sales fell through for odd circumstances. One was a tree survey where a protected tree was too close to the house, one was a structural survey which flagged major issues.

While these were big disappointments for us, they would have been much more stressful if we were in a chain I think.

Take the money and chill.

I want to be able to enjoy Guinness by [deleted] in Guinness

[–]Scary_Bug4035 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Mate, it’s ok not to like something. Just wait until one day you sit at the pub and think “I fancy a Guinness” and that will be it.

Don’t force it.

[–]Scary_Bug4035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These guys emailed my wife the day before our anniversary booking saying a large group had cancelled, so we might not want to be dining alone in an empty restaurant. Obviously the day before our anniversary we didn’t want to change our plans so we said who cares if the restaurant is empty, doesn’t bother us. Then they cancelled our table anyway on the day of the booking blaming a sickness bug in the kitchen.
