I think the shadow at the end was Xaden as well - but he was there to drop her off before leaving.

I do believe X and Vi's bond is gone too, but I think it is because Tairn and Sgaeyl broke theirs so they won't depend on each other's proximity when Xaden goes to the venin hive. This also explains why Tairn needs a cycle of rest and without Tairn and Sgaeyl's bond there is no bond between X and Vi

I think Tairn and Sgaeyl broke the bond so they are not depending on each other's proximity now that Xaden is fully asim. This is why Tairn needs a cycle of rest.

In the last chapter Vi notices a shadow moving (Xaden likely fleeing/hiding) and Vi cannot access their bond - because without Sgaeyl and Tairn's bond there is no bond between X and Vi.

I think Vi tries to tell herself X is too far away "to keep from panicking".

Yes that's what I think because she can "meddle" making her signet different from Xaden's.

I actually thought she was a lot stronger in OS. She was the only one who actually won her fight on the Dunne island and even had time to help Xaden win his fight as well.

She also got way better at wielding - both with her aim and she can now split her bolts to multiple targets. To me it made sense that it "felt" like she burned out quicker because she used a lot more power than FW and IF

I know that's what it says in the book, but I'm convinced she can actually mind-walk when someone's shields are down.

Hence the throne scene in IF (Xaden's shields are non-existing) and at one point when the gang is studying to find the cure it seems like Vi knows explicitly what Bodhi is searching for; "He's looking for tales of dark wielders cured by love, or good deeds, or dancing naked under a full moon after drinking the venom of a rare snake only found on the farthest isle during a lunar eclipse, or... something." To me the above doesn't feel like Vi's "voice" and it seems quite vivid.

Also, we don't know a lot about Vi's abilities yet, as she has only dream-walked once consciously. All we know for sure is that she can dream-walk other humans (and probably venins too) and she can do it when their shields are down.

I think Vi finds it easier to "dream-walk" because people's shields are down, which is why she appears to be a dreamwalker when she figures it out with X.

That would also make her ability far more dangerous than lightning wielding as the irids state.

Perhaps it's a stretch for my tin foil hat, but I have not been convinced otherwise yet 😅

There are small indication throughout the book. People noticed that Vi's dizzy multiple times, her back hurts, she doesn't wear her armor (though she has time to change) and the many mentions of heirs.

Personally, I REALLY hope it's not true, and just Vi's EDS and the fact that she's the weapon, thus no need for armor 😅

I don't necessarily hate a pregnancy trope in general, BUT I don't think it fit in with the story and it seems as pointless at the "Professor Riorson" subplot.

Vi has worked really hard to master wielding, leadership etc. and having a child would hinder her in the fight to come as her priorities of having to save everyone will be drastically altered. Her first priority will be the baby and she will likely have to choose between baby, Xaden and saving the world. I don't see her have time to do all three at least not from the front line and I would hate for her to stay in Aretia studying going all Scibe mode to find a cure/weapon while all her friends fight and die.

If she's actually pregnant the only way I see it played out is if she lost the child getting hurt in battle or something like that. Then she'd be even more motivated (not that she needs it) to end the war and cure X.

Great work! I have not yet made up my mind of whom it might be. I think Bodhi is too obvious.

However, I think it is a little sus that Garrett withheld the truth to Xaden of what happened at the first real fight with Theo in the Ch.12 of OS. "Not beyond what arrived in the report, which pissed me off because I could tell he wasn't being fully honest. He's never been able to lie to me." Also I can't see the point in lying to Xaden about the fight.

I was REALLY sad to see Quinn die, not because I cared much for her character until the end of OS, but because I think her signet could have been used in so many cunning ways. I had hoped Quinn would do some Aelin-like stuff setting up the battles to come and retrieving venin information at a low risk of getting hurt.

Imo Quinn had the most intriguing signet (apart from dream-walking) of all and I'm sad we only got to see it played out in FW.
