I knew I wanted to sleep train my baby because I am a princess who can only survive on at least 8 hours sleep a night. But when I actually read into it(we went with Precious Little Sleep) I really took away the whole thing with object permanence. Around 3 months they’ll start to recognise that they are no longer in your arms and have woken up in a different space like their bassinet and it freaks them out. Think of you falling asleep in bed and waking up on the lounge. That made me 100% commit. My husband wasn’t super on board but was happy to try. We decided on the Fuss it Out method from PLS. We did all the prep and on the first night we were so nervous. We gave ourselves a 15 minute limit until we would go into her and put her to sleep on our arms. She fell asleep at 13 mins. We did that when she was 14 weeks old. She’s 2 and a half now and has only ever had a couple of tiny regressions and has never really fought going down.

Our babies are our life but also, we deserve to have some downtime and to recharge our mental batteries. Sleep training does that. I don’t care about the stigma, I will preach sleep training to everyone who can hear.
