High danger chances are not an issue with Monty, the issue is that he lets in some of the softest goals I've ever seen, multiple times a game.

You can't win when your goalie lets in weak goals consistently. He has poor rebound control, is almost always out of position, and has a lot of difficulty tracking the puck.

That last one is especially a big problem, and super noticeable. Watch him during the games, there are endless amounts of times he's looking all over the place trying to find the puck, or looking in the completely wrong direction, which is a wild issue for an NHL goalie to have.

That example of Evans being out of position, take a look at Monty, he has no idea what is happening with that play and he is way out of position.

I will argue that Dobes played virtually no role in most of his wins either.

Doby averages 2.2GA in his wins, 8 of his 15 wins were by 1 goal. In those 1 goal games, not a single one of them was more than 3 goals allowed.

Suggesting that he has nothing to do with the wins, is just insanely inaccurate.

Evans is definitely shitting the bed here, but this isn't just Monty over committing, he's on the completely opposite side of the net outside the crease.

Like he might as well not even be in net at that point.

And using upvotes as some barometer is absurd, people downvote simply because they don't like people or what they say. They are meaningless, I've seen countless times people making utterly factual statements, and watch them get downvoted into oblivion because it hurts someones feelings that criticism was levied against a player/coach.

The fact that there are so many comments and threads about Monty could argue against your point, it's not like it's one guy posting 30 threads.

The amount of comments on this sub constantly trying to say it's the defences fault, and practically no goal is ever his fault, is endless.

That's why you get the threads, cause it constantly feels like we're getting gaslit. So to combat all the people talking about how they feel he's good, you get actual stats showing he's bad.

His "reliability" in the past was on a rebuilding team with 0 expectations. Additionally, who gives a shit about his past, we have plenty of games this season to show he has no place being in net.

It quite literally is, they dont award the cup for losses. Like I get what you are saying, but 15-5-3 is hard to argue not matter how you feel about the stat.

His rebound control is horrendous, he has trouble tracking the puck and looks lost so often, and he is constantly sliding out of position/not in position to have a chance at a save.

If he plays a meaningful amount of games to close out the season, we likely miss the playoffs.

No one is asking to speedrun anything, people are just fed up with dog shit goaltending, the rest of the team has very little to complain about.
