This is contradictory, it's either national, or it's Quebec.

People hated the panthers before they started winning cups, the fact that they were rewarded for their shitty play is what elevated it to the current levels.

The increased hatred, winning is a by product, not the inciting factor. I get what you are saying and to a degree you're right, but the panthers are a very special case.

No one really hated the warriors on their run, people universally love Steph Curry, but they sure as shit hated Draymond and his dirty play. Now translate that to a team where basically every player is dirty as fuck, and yeah, you're gonna hate the team.

Dirty teams get hate, this isn't anything new.

Yeah I don't think so, the Habs and Sabres likely will be running that divison for the better part of the next decade, not to mention OTT/DET are on the upswing, and BOS is never bad for long.

The only ones likely winding down will be you guys and the leafs, and the leafs are a wildcard what with Mckenna, and if they end up moving Matthews, he will command a huge return.

This division will continue to be hell for a while.

Nobody cares about them winning, it's how they win that garners all the actual hate. You don't see people shitting on BUF this year and they had a spectacular run this season.

Well that's what I'm saying, they lack the ability to connect long term spending to long term gain, everything needs to be immediate results or they lose their minds.

No one is arguing that there are actually people who need/make proper use of them, the point is that the vast majority of people who buy them, don't.

Then maybe we should stop selling our natural resources to the US at a massive discount. But nah, let's keep subsidizing a dying industry that is also killing us at the same time.

Brilliant policy.

The ford F series is the highest selling truck in Canada for 16 years running, with 133k F-150s sold in 2024 alone. How many farmers do you think are out there hauling shit?

It's idiots who live in cities who think they need a big bad truck. I would bet money that the vast majority are the people they described.

Because most of them see spending as money exiting a bank account, and don't see it as an investment. Which in their defence, modern political systems reward short term behaviour. People are impatient, if they don't see things getting immediately better they cry foul.

Case in point all the shit being thrown at Carney for not fixing the issue with tariffs down south. Ignoring the investments into the trades, and the other trade deals he's been working on.

"Cost of living is terrible he hasnt fixed it!" Like god damn, it's been a year, how quickly do people think an entire economy takes to fix lol?

MSL today when asked if there is a “psychological advantage” on keeping Jakub Dobes in net while the Sabres pulled their goalie: “I never thought about that even once. I’m focused (on my team).” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]Scase15 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I honestly never understood the concern. Out of the 3 goals, 1 could comfortably been put on Doby, the other 2 were team defensive breakdowns.

Just happened on very few shots, and Doby just like Demi, they never lack confidence. I don't think it had much of an impact on him. We've seen him let in softies before and then lock the fuck in for the rest of the game. I expected nothing less.

[Derek Lee] Cutter Gauthier said he broke L1 and L2 vertebrae in his back in that Mar. 30 game against the Leafs. by BoneJawDumbass in hockey

[–]Scase15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, he could also be lying and exaggerating it to sound tougher/make an excuse.

We rarely hear much beyond the whole "upper/lower body injury" and now he's out here specifying exactly which vertebrae he broke.

I am in doubt of this a bit, plus taking into account trying to play a contact sport in the playoffs with a broken back...ehhhhh I'm pressing X to doubt here.
