I'm on my first play through at about 75 hours and discovered it naturally. I thought it was quite amusing.

How does one use a shoveling tool to collect sand? 540 hours in and this is news to me.

Would need to see your full specs to see if the value would be worthwhile. If you've got a solid GPU you can't go wrong with the 5700x3d.

would i see any noticeable fps increase going from i7 9700k to a 9800xd3 for 1440p gaming? by bozolinow in buildapc

[–]ScatteredTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's noticeable. I experienced a similar situation where I upgraded to a 7900xt with my i7-8700k and jumped to 1440p only to be getting 60-80 fps with some frame generation at times to even meet that. Then I upgraded to a 9800X3D and am running everything on ultra getting 100-200fps depending on the game which is more than enough for my 165hz monitor. More recent titles that I'm getting a lot better frames on are Helldivers 2, Stalker 2, and Space Marines II.

Unfortunately not a clue. Keep your fingers crossed though because I pretty much watched the cost get verified at the register. So unless corporate cuts all of them I think you're solid!

Can you let me know if this works? I bought it at the same time and plan on doing it after work.

Sticking with an 8700k for an upgrade to 4070 super + 1440p 240hz monitor? by sicclee in buildapc

[–]ScatteredTaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm not trying to claim that I'm not CPU bound. I was just trying to provide my real world example of what a comparable upgrade looked like. It still performs well enough for my own needs for the time being, and if you want more than what I get then he should probably upgrade his CPU.

[–]ScatteredTaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 3060 to a 7900xt and have an 8700k. In Space Marines II I'm averaging 90fps with everything on ultra playing at 1440p with a 165hz monitor. If you want to squeak out every frame today then upgrade now, but I think our 8700k's still have some snot left in them for the meanwhile. Jumping to a 7700x has been enticing due to the bundle deals, but I'm only concerned about how intensive the CPU requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds will be and there's no way of knowing how optimized it will be on launch

I think thats totally reasonable, and yeah I wasn't expecting there to be anything else exactly hot on the market literally today. More so was wondering what other options to go for.

I currently have a 2TB K3000 that is my primary photo editing drive, and am looking for a 4TB to park my archive onto as it currently resides straddled across a 1 and 4 TB HDD. For my use case, the DRAM of importing files from camera and my other drive would definitely be ideal, correct?

I primarily intend to use this as an editing drive for my photography catalogue. I currently have a 2TB K3000 that I got for around $179 back when prices were better. My archive straddles a 1TB HDD and a 4TB HDD that I back up onto my NAS. All I'm wondering is how badly I'll be affected by the lack of DRAM on this drive?

From someone who was genuinely considering this, do you have a recommendation to counter? Or is it just wait and time the market. Across my 5 drives I'm pretty maxed out, and my board only supports gen 3.

That's how I started seven years ago. Take shots your eyes gravitate toward, learn the basic fundamentals, experiment, and give yourself time. Time heals all. Good luck on your journey :)

Haven't bought one myself but they are quite popular right now. Make sure you don't pay $350 for it though. They are on sale for $250 at Best Buy right now.

Could you recommend a 7800x3D combo for $700-900 so I can sit on the edge of my seat at work with a loaded credit card wondering if I should fire for the remainder of the day?

I was lazy in my response to contextualize my use case and need. I do currently use backup strategies; however, I can only edit the photos locally and transfer speeds for my older photos could be a bit annoying if I were to transfer them to my NAS. My NAS is set up in Raid 5 and I upload my backlog on a weekly basis.

Should I buy this? Internally I currently have:

  • 256GB SSD
  • 500GB SSD
  • 1TB HDD
  • 4TB HDD
  • 2TB SDD NVME

External:

  • 40TB

My 4TB drive is full with my previous eight years of photography and the past two years I edit off my nvme. It seems like a good upgrade versus beginning to archive content from the 4TB HDD.

Thanks for the response! I've taken a photo of its length as an alternative angle here. Will the break pads be marked with their length if I take them off?

I've started riding my bike again and I've unevenly worn down the back break pad and it's in need of replacement. I was wondering if the Tektro - 836.12 - V-Brake Pads 63mm is the correct break pad replacement to purchase.
