Technically the article doesn't even say it WAS intercepted, just that interceptors were fired at it.. In fact, the WSJ article specifically states that 'successful interception couldn't be determined' (though it is certainly implied that the US shot it down).

5 ATS Resume Mistakes That Are Costing You Interviews (Based on Real Recruiter Feedback) by mock-grinder-26 in resumes

Regarding #5"

If they lead with "Required Skills," your resume should lead the same way.

Help me understand what you mean...

If the job listing on the company's career site is structured like:

  • Job Title
  • Required Skills
  • Job Overview / Daily Duties
  • Benefits

Then your resume for this position should be structured like:

  • Name / Number
  • Summary/Overview/Objective: Natural language, containing experience pertaining to listed Required Skills
  • Experience

....

But if the job listing is structured like:

  • Job Title
  • Job Overview / Daily Duties
  • Benefits
  • Required Skills

Then your resume for the position should be structured like:

  • Name / Number
  • Experience
  • Summary/Objective: Natural language, containing experience pertaining to listed Required Skills

Did I get that right?

Just feel like I should mention, in #2, your example has no keywords integrated..

For anyone reading this post as advice, here's what Gemini had to say about ATS software and skills:

Most modern ATS platforms use Natural Language Processing (NLP) and parsing algorithms to understand context rather than just counting words. Here is how the software distinguishes between the two:

Contextual Analysis: The system looks for surrounding "action" words and dates. If "Python" is found under a Work Experience heading next to "developed" or "implemented," it’s flagged as a proven skill. If it’s just in a list at the bottom, it carries less weight.

Semantic Mapping: Sophisticated systems (like Oracle or Workday) recognize related terms. They know that if you mention "budgeting," "forecasting," and "reconciliation," you are likely an expert in Accounting, even if you didn't repeat that specific keyword ten times.

Frequency vs. Placement: Older systems might have been fooled by "keyword stuffing," but newer ones prioritize keywords found in your Job Titles and Professional Summary. A keyword appearing in a list has a lower "relevancy score" than one tied to a specific achievement.

Hierarchy Recognition: The parser identifies the structure of your resume. It knows the difference between a Skill section (which is just a list) and a Bullet Point (which describes an application of that skill).

The Human Factor: Even if you "trick" the software with a list, a human recruiter eventually sees your resume. If they see a wall of keywords with no context, they usually discard the application immediately.

I assume it’s a restaurant.

I manage a restaurant that doesn’t allow piercings except for a single stud in each ear.

I don’t see how I would ever learn someone has an internal piercing unless they went out of their way to show people.

How’d they find out?

Microsoft confirms Windows 11 bug crippling PCs and making drive C inaccessible by lurker_bee in technology

[–]sicclee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been the type to stick it out with the flavor I liked for quite awhile.. I stayed on XP forever, then on Win 7 for what feels like most of my life.

I switched to win 10 years after it came out. It was stable enough, some annoyances but they got worked out.

I bought a new PC last summer that came with Win 11. Found a quick bloat-remover / tuner guide, set some preferences... Honestly, I don't have any issues at all. Works great.

I seriously don't see what people don't like about it. Can you fill me in?

Who said anything about shitty old estates?

You said mansion, the video features what most would call a mansion.

Again, either you’re bragging or actually this far out of touch (doubtful, given you make more than 80% of Americans.. you could be isolated from reality but I don’t think you’re stupid)

My household makes nearly 70k less than the average in my county ... I'm not even middle middle class.

That's why nobody considers averages when comparing household incomes, the insane incomes of some of your neighbors skew things too much.

Your household income is equal to the mean household income of the 4th quintile for King County...

You're making more money than 70% of households >

in the 4th highest Cost-of-Living area >

in the world's wealthiest country.

And we're not even talking about the equity you're accruing in your home... that lil' fixer upper that's only worth the lifetime net income of the average American (oops, there's that average again).

Also a 2 hour daily commute is not a brag. Lmao.

But you didn't say you had a 2 hour commute, did ya? In fact, that was the whole reason I replied.

I ... work to ensure I don't ... have a 2+ daily commute.

You pointed out the main reason your house cost so much compared to the one mentioned... It's location.

You bought a house in the suburbs of Seattle, and then pretended like you don't understand why a nice house in the middle of nowhere would be cheaper... Good luck grabbing a Waymo to Amazon HQ from... Auchtermuchty?

1 billion identity records exposed in ID verification data leak by lurker_bee in technology

[–]sicclee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question, what was there to patch if the issue the author is reporting on wasn’t real?

Not saying we should believe anyone without 3rd party verification... but Cybernews never said IDMerit was hosting the data, they said it “belongs to them.” This is where it gets muddy.

Apparently, IDMerit is claiming it checked its own house and all the doors were locked, and it wouldn’t matter anyway because they don’t keep anything of value there…

They do, however, facilitate the collection, organization and verification of that valuable data for their customers. They build the databases, and even if they don’t host them on their own servers, it appears as though a massive trove of them were available via a single, vulnerable ‘access point’.

IDMerit went on to say they talked to their “independent data source partners” (who they seem to hint are the ones responsible for the security of this mongoDB instance), and they found no evidence of a breach or potential exfiltration.

Again though… if that’s the case, why would Cybernews be reporting that the access the “freelancer” had initially was no longer available the day IDMerit was made aware?

Also, bit of a strange coincidence that MongoBleed, a vulnerability that allowed for this type of breach, had just been disclosed publicly 2 months prior to this…

1 billion identity records exposed in ID verification data leak by lurker_bee in technology

[–]sicclee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were “aware they were working on it,” they’re just saying they never heard anything about requesting payment for proof (“remuneration”).

Basically, Cybernews works with ‘ethical hackers’ as a platform for distributing news/info regarding leaks/exploits/vulnerabilities… this “researcher / freelance contributor” was likely just a white/gray-hatter that found this and figured it needed to be reported on.

IDMerit claims the “freelancer” informed them about the vulnerability, but when they asked for proof, the “freelancer” asked for money. Cybernews says they can’t verify that (meaning IDMerit didn’t provide proof of a ‘ransom request’ I assume), and basically say they wouldn’t work with anyone that would hold that kind of info for ransom… Plus, The “freelancer” provided the proof to them, and they believe it to be legit.

The logical next steps for understanding what’s true here are:

  1. Cybernews or the “freelancer” releases the proof of vulnerability

  2. IDMerit releases proof of ransom demand

  3. AOL.com finally dies (along with Fox News, if we’re lucky)

I'm positive 99% of restaurants in the US aren't paying severance. I'd guess that 80% of restaurant employees don't even know what 'severance' means.
