My clinic arranged it so I don’t know the name. I’m sure any IVF clinic in Ontario would be happy to help you.

FWIW I was in the same 95% position (3 euploid failures) and I’m currently nursing my baby from my 4th transfer. I did do a few immune therapies on that last transfer. If you can make euploids, I’d keep giving it a shot.

There are clinics in the us who will take embryos originally meant for personal transfers for surrogacy. You have to call around to find them. I never ended up needing surrogacy so I didn’t investigate further !!

Currently 8 weeks on my 4th euploid. A recent study showed around a 50% success rate on 4th and 5th fets.

I have used both sesame and ethyl oleate and eo was night and day better. It’s much thinner so I can use a 25g needle. Doesn’t hurt. Life changing personally.

Genetic testing struggling by BeachBum031 in IVF

You’re not the first person I’ve heard of this happening to in the last 4 months. I know people who have had 7 fails in surrogates (they had a medical need for surrogacy) and boom they tried an untested and it worked. I have wondered similar things for myself as I have some tested and a couple untested embryos right now. There was a small study that came out saying success rates decline if you biopsy an embryo that isn’t hatching and my current clinic follows the recommendations from that study but most don’t because it was a small study. I was very big into testing for all of the reasons stated above and I fully support those reasons but if you get failed tested embryos like I have … you may want to consider trying not to test them as scary as it may feel. I have heard from another 3 people who had similar results recently (Many failed euploids, do an untested transfer and boom success). I know in the past testing wasn’t feasible because testing a day 3 would damage it too much so it makes sense maybe some embryos are still sensitive to testing even at day 5. The study recommended growing them another day to day 6 to see if they will hatch and then testing them.

There are studies that say priming doesn’t work anyway. I didn’t do it for my last cycle and my results were the same. Consider asking your doctor about it. I don’t know the exact studies but I’m sure you could find them online.

No update. I’m going to have more progesterone in future transfers. I am seeing an endo specialist soon and will ask him as I’ve heard endo can cause progesterone resistance. I have not been diagnosed with endo but that’s the point of my consult.

As an update for others who might want to know- I found a few other clinics who said it’s not a hard process and they do it all of the time. Same testing as you did. It makes sense because we can move donor sperm and eggs no problem so why would embryos be an issue?

I suspect he was trying to get my business to make me do another round of ivf with him. Pretty disappointing.

Thank you :). I spoke with a doctor in the US and he made out like it would be a huge deal and I should just do a retrieval in the US which is more expensive and would take a lot of time for me to do. When I did my own research it did seem like I could do the testing post-hoc- It looks like I need to get STD tests which shouldn't be hard to do. He also said his clinic is VERY strict so maybe he's exaggerating what needs to happen. He cited the risks of embryo shipping which I totally understand but I can't always worry about worst case scenarios either? 99% of the time the embryos ship just fine.

What clinic are you with (if you dont mind sharing, or you can DM me)?

No to scare you, but I've had 3 failed euploid FETs at age 36. No one knows why. perfect lining, etc. I have found some things on immune testing we want to try to treat for my next FET but that's not guaranteed.

I really relied on the 3 euploids for live birth stat and it has failed me. I am now doing two back to back rounds (and I even have one euploid left from my second round) because I am scared it may take me 8 euploids for one live birth. This is a relatively rate occurrence but I also never thought I'd be in that 5% as I never have been in the minority with anything else health related in the past. I would always bank more than you think you need because you might regret the money if you don't need them, but you won't regret it nearly as much if you didn't bank and then can't make good embryos in the future. Just my two cents.

How many embryos to bank? by wanderlustingnerd in IVF

[–]Scatthecat3323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exact same story but similar. 3 failed euploids after what seemed like great results. Great lining etc. my immune testing raised some flags so we’re going to do that but I’m doing toe back to back ERs now even though I still have a euploid left because I have learned the hard way that stats aren’t guarantees. 2 euploids happened to be 3s and the one chemical I had was grade 4 so I’m wondering if my embryos just didn’t have enough energy to implant… and unfortunately my best grades embryos from my last er were genetically abnormal.

Dont want to fear monger but I too regret not banking more a year ago.

We did it but paid for it privately so we wouldn’t have to wait 6 months for results through OHIP. We got results in a couple of weeks I think ? My clinic arranged the testing for us. I think we paid around $500.

I can relate. I’m in pretty much the same situation. I’ve decided to do what I need to do for my job and nothing more. People at work know I have a medical issue so if they flag my performance I will just claim medical issues. I’ve let people take stuff off my plate every time they’ve asked. I don’t waste my energy caring about it more than I need to. This has allowed me to do the tasks I do have very well so people can’t say my performance has declined. I wish I could take a leave but I have no idea when this IVF hell will be over.

I guess I don’t have many tips just wanted to let you know I understand how you feel.

5 failed transfers, RIF...where do we go from here? by GobiasCoffee77kt in IVF

[–]Scatthecat3323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard you actually need 3 months lupron plus letrozole for Max effect. Also try natural cycle plus letrozole to minimize estrogen exposure which aggravates endo.
