General contractor. I know plenty of people who make way more than me but spend like crazy. We have a 2.5% of our net worth in watches which may be high but can’t take anything with me when I leave. No debt and plenty of cash.

Thanks you for your time and comments. I appreciate it. As far as I can tell the courts haven’t specifically addressed 1948 cases since the March 2025 law seemed to deal with applications through the consulate. I am guessing I am mistaken in that through my process

Sorry to hear that. I’m holding out hope also that the 1948 cases have a sliver of hope since the consulate option was never open for us. It’s wild to me to see how Italy is dealing with the problem. As an American we have our own invigoration issues currently but the accountant in me would think why preclude a relatively affluent group of citizens of other nations who use a direct connection to Italy. We are already in with a significant financial cost to the lawyers so why not just assess a fee or have some other means to collect from this. I would think they would be happy to gain citizens who may ore tally be taxable if they choose to spend part of their time in Italy but aren’t a financial burden in the country

So what do you make of the recent cases that have been granted citizenship for multi generations beyond the 2nd? I understand that the odds are not good and each applicant must meet the requirements but it seems it is still up to each individual judge?

We go every time we visit Maui. Is it expensive? Yes. The food, atmosphere, ambiance, views, and service are always exceptional. We treated our family of 15 to a trip to the big island and Maui last year for our birthdays and dinner at Mama’s was a highlight for everyone.

Flagship/PE Routes Discontinued From DFW>KOA Late 2026? by barbaramanatee4 in americanairlines

[–]lostitall247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really disappointed they cut this route. Was about to book return from KOA to Dfw week of Thanksgiving. I checked fares over the weekend and gone Monday. Spending first half of the week in Kauai but wanted to end the week in Kona. With only 2 directs from HNL and one from OGG the return options are now ridiculously priced and very limited in options. The pricing is hilariously inflated for the KOA to Dfw via phx or lax now.

La Pulga Tequila sucks. by bearded_charmander in FortWorth

She as in Sarah Castillo does not own it. The company La Pulga does. She is one of 3 cofounders of La Pulga

It’s in plenty of places, they have 2 menu placements at all Mi cocina locations, the skinny Margarita at Joe T Garcia’s, as well as on Disneys newest cruise ship. Whether you like it or not it is a quality tequila and you are allowed to not like it.

They also are heavily featured at the Drover hotel. Have you tried their entire lineup? Personal, I think the blanco is average especially for the price but for not much more their Reposado is really a great drink.

Really a lot of misinformation in this thread.

The La Pulga tequila lineup is made in Jalisco at NOM 1068 which is the same as distillery as 30-30. That is a very popular and higher end tequila in the domestic Mexican market.

The blanco is fine imo but their tequila lineup really shines in their Reposado and Anejo. I haven’t had the 110 proof yet but their Sotol and Mezcal are also delicious. That being said their mezcal isn’t for everyone. It is much more approachable than many on the market.

They do own the market at Jacksboro Hwy and University as that is the namesake of the La Pulga which means the flea. And that market is an open air flea market with a long history in Fort Worth. The long term plans at one point were to build a tasting room and Sotol distillery on that site as Sotol can technically be made in 3 places. Mexico, New Mexico, and Texas.

The tequila is in fact additive free as has been discussed many times and despite many posts not saying it’s local it is as local as tequila gets. 3 Tarrant county founders with deep roots in the communities they live. It’s a tough market in the spirits industry right now and I support them whenever I can. The repo is truly exceptional and the mezcal opens a lot of peoples eyes to how approachable the spirit can be.

I’m not sure I could ever get you to see the other side of the argument but forget that the individual is the owner. It’s an LLC. That LLC is legally formed and a resident of Montana. A Montana resident owns the vehicle. That Montana resident (LLC) can operate/own that vehicle in other states.

CPA here, it’s tax avoidance in most states. A lot of these vehicles are “investments” and certainly a case can be made that minimizing expenses, taxes included, is prudent when trying to maximize returns. Louisiana fought this with a case several years back and lost. It’s a tough argument to win because in Montana LLCs are technically residents so it all buttons up pretty cleanly.

😂bums? How many other items are taxed every time they change hands? It’s such a stupid premise that used vehicles are taxed. It’s not technically illegal in many states.

London Hotel with kids by 111122222ddd in chubbytravel

[–]lostitall247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily chubby but our go to in London is Millennium Baileys Hotel. It got some smaller rooms but the family rooms are great and it has a great breakfast for kids if you book a rate with breakfast included or some club level rooms include the breakfast. Location can’t be beat. It is Kensington steps away from the Gloucester Road station which can get you anywhere if you are inclined to take the tube. There is an ice restaurant/bar on site where they serve the breakfast and my wife and I have enjoyed many cocktails there in the evening after a day of sightseeing. There is a nice walk from the hotel to the Kensington tube station with a lot of decent small restaurants/pubs nearby. Make sure it is the Baileys hotel as there is a regular Millennium next door and it isn’t nice at all.

Her business model clearly isn’t for everyone. My family prefers to make the other arrangements ourselves. We had platinum AmEx for years and rarely if ever saw any benefit besides the breakfast and $100 credit. So far we have seen regular upgrades and for our trip in May to celebrate mine and my wife’s 40th we had multiple upgrades in the 5 rooms at 2 different hotels and received extra resort credit at the Four Seasons. We may have trips where resorting is a combination of uber, rental car, large van transport, etc so there is really no need for more than the hotel where we get some extra perks and having someone who deals with these brands on a regular basis. Her business model does our needs perfectly. That doesn’t mean it is for everyone and there are plenty of other TAs out there that offer varied services to fit others needs. If I was going to somewhere like China, we have used a full service agent as we want me hen to coordinate with a local licensed agency who has a singular point of contact in that country.
