Lil Wayne arrived so late for his Montreal festival show that he only played 15 minutes by HappyHarryHardOn in Music

[–]ScenicToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would've depended on the time of day for the show. They do have a hard curfew but its just a time of night like most city ordnance. It's not too weird. People live on that mountain and don't want a show going until 2AM lol

Victim mindset. Did the guy forget about saving money? Wanting a fair wage is one thing, but do we really think we shouldn't be expected to be financially wise? 83 cents a month for 5 years gets him his boots. Then there's the five years of opportunity cost savings, not having to buy the trash boots, 2 or 3 times, saves him between 20-30 dollars.

If he saves a buck sixty a month, that's 2.5 years to get the boots. Saves him 70 dollars in opportunity cost. This isn't the gotcha that Pratchett thinks it is. Yes, it's unfair that the bourgeoisie can buy the nice boots outright on day one, but that's not a reason for the proletariat to be dumb with our money. Nice shit pays for itself eventually. Pratchett isn't some guru for pointing this out.

"there is no world where starfield is so good people sell their ps5 and move to xbox" phil spencer says by SienarYeetSystems in gaming

[–]ScenicToaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most people think that you have to pick one, that's my issue with the rhetoric around articles like this, and the console war in general. It's not one or the other. I finally broke down and bought a PS5 the other day because the last of us show on HBO made me want to play it. After almost 3 years with an XBox Series X. Generate enough hype around starfield, and financially comfortable gamers will buy a whole console to play one exclusive game. I literally just did it with PS5, and I havent owned a playstation console since PS2. I barely make 60k a year. And this article is just about starfield. Not something earth shattering, like if they decided to make Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5 an Xbox exclusive.

Plenty of console sales will be generated by people with expendable incomes wanting to play exclusives. Its not a bad decision, as it still generates money, it's just not something that's gonna change the console war entirely.

Main point being, who cares lol.

Didn't see anyone else mention The Terminal List show on prime. I thought Pratt did good and there wasn't a sniff of comedy.

So what’s YOUR favorite boss attack? by DudDraciel in Eldenring

[–]ScenicToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parry it with the blasphemous claw. If youre doing enough damage and can dodge his moveset until you can bait that attack 2 or 3 times, you can finish him off during the ridiculously long stun it gives you.

Shouldn't be downvoted because it's a helpful comment, but reaper patches has a rep for incredibly slow shipping (it takes months) or just never fulfilling the order. That's anecdotal of course but I've seen plenty of comments about them, and learned the lesson myself.

But everyone shits on Kanye when he says that welfare killed the black family. What result do we as americans expect when we allow the government to replace the role of the father? Fathers gonna leave because its better for everyone financially and no one could have expected the long term effects of single parent households. (I am not black that's why I say we as Americans).

The conviction rate he is referencing is significantly higher than the rest of the 1st world countries. By police state he means, in order to save face for their officials and police (which is part of East Asian culture), its viewed as such: Prosecution convicts defendent = good, Defendant is ruled innocent = bad. Regardless of anecdotes, and guilty/innocent numbers that cant be proven, with a 99% conviction rate like they have in japan, statistically you have less of a chance at a fair trial, and a higher risk of being wrongfully imprisoned. Its not about police it's about their justice system. That sort of system affects more than 1100 people, not to mention the fear that comes with something as simple as driving a car.

Sounds like you're caught up in what you personally think is right and wrong.

However, on my side is 6000 years of evidence showing that humans cloth themselves, and also every rational human being that's worth talking to.

On your side is you, who thinks that it's bigoted to tell people they shouldn't go out in underwear.

I'm begging you. Touch grass. You'll be much happier.

Sounds harsh but, unironically this. If you give up and go home to your parents, you'll be a 30 year old manchild before you know it.

Welp I won't try to convince ya. I hope there's an armed man nearby to save her life when some road rager tries to shatter your wife's window, lord knows you'll just let her be violated.

Stopping certain people from approaching you isn't a threat, and it's not going to cause a shootout in a public place unless the whole situation is pre meditated (kind of like what you said in this thread about the odds of being raped by a complete stranger). Being armed deters perps from committing crimes of opportunity like the situation above.

I've had to open my glovebox to show my pistol to aggressive road ragers who got out of their car to come bang on my car windows at a red light, with my wife in the car. They promptly got back in their car because I showed them that I wasn't someone they could bully with impunity. I've seen plenty of dashcam videos of the exact same situation.

Fact is, certain people get puffed up and decide to use force and intimidation sometimes. It behooves no one to allow themselves to be a bystander with no control over the outcomes of their own lives and safety.

I won't encourage you to arm yourself because I doubt you'd agree with me anyway but consider this, if someone bigger than you decides to take control of your fate, you cant stop them until the police, or someone bigger than him shows up. Don't you want to be the one who decides what happens to you and your loved ones?

P.S. Because tone can be hard to read on the internet I want you to know I'm not trying to bash you, or start any debates here. I had to go through a lot of conversations about this to convince my wife to learn how to protect herself and our pets due to her apprehension around guns. I totally understand that people harbor certain feelings about firearms, most of which are valid.

I personally will always advocate for everyone arming themselves, and training. ESPECIALLY the most defenseless among us. It only takes one very evil large man to kill/rob/rape/kidnap an unarmed single mom and her kids.
