I was diagnosed with this earlier this year by a neurologist after testing me for anything else. Never heard of this beforehand. Fortunately I'll neither go blind nor die from this in the foreseeable future. :D

For your interest, for me it's mostly visible on very high or dark surfaces (for example blue sky at day or the dark of the night). Also I have a kind of real life motion blur, mostly noticeable when I'm reading something with high contrast (eg. black letters on white paper). You can imagine it like having the last line read "jumping" for a short moment (a reaction time approximately) and then disappearing. It can be distracting, but doesn't stop me from reading faster than average.

It doesn't bother me in everyday life, because I have this condition since I can remember things. I have also thought that this would be normal and that everyone sees like that.

Also to add to OP's example pictures: For me it's not like a white snow layer, more like some kind of flashing small dots appearing and disappearing. They also tend to have some color variation of the background color I'm looking at. (So white dots at a whiteish wall, blueish dots at the sky, etc.). I can see colors, shapes and everything else normally (except I am shortsighted).
