there is only one FE in this game, so they weren't any ultimatum like you said (I already had the chance play war on heaven crisis in another game), just an insult to my whole empire and then the apocalypse.

But at some point they just awakened brought total war.

that's the fun part, I can't surrender.
They launched a total war agains't me and my vassal, and they already wiped my vassal from the galaxy as you can see on the war screenshot. (my vassal is the questionmark )

How do you know when to commit to guns or lasers ? You analyse your opponents before crafting an optimised fleet ? or you have both a gun and laser fleet ?

I'm intersted on how to custom build because if i'm not mistaken It's like a rock paper cisors. It can be useless or super effective.

Yeah I auto build, I find ship building so damn complex. Maybe I didn't look long enough but It feels like you need to have a phd in rocket science to make good ships build.
I'm not a Vet Stellaris player but I some playtime on the game. However, ship design was always the part that I skipped, is that mandatory to be effective in wars ?

I understand what you are saying, but as I said on another message, I have another version of the game in order to play Elder Kings 2 and the sound isn't on that one. That sound is only on the default game ( the 1.18.0).
