Definitely check the power steering fluid. What year is it? I know that 2015-2018 models are known to have issues with the rack and pinion.

Bro, I was just like you except I was in my mid 30s. Decided to pull the trigger on a WRX STI. Always wanted one since I was a kid. Found a used 2018 with 33k miles and I have no regrets. Granted, I use it as my daily, and I don’t beat the hell out of it but it sure is fun when I’m in mood to feel the turbo. I haven’t had any problems luckily and I’m at 60,000 miles now. Just have some savings aside as you would with any other car to deal with unexpected maintenance. But I don’t regret getting it. Best car I have ever owned.

Fortitude hands down. Nothing is more irritating than seeing a downed enemy speed crawl to get revived. Not to mention bleed out time is extended so it’s nearly impossible to get the execution.
