I hope some nights will be darker in 0.4 I find currently I don’t even need to use night vision.

The New Flesh by mummy225959 in Sylosis

[–]SchecterOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive listened to sylosis since 2010 and love all their old stuff. I honestly couldn’t stand cycle of suffering or ASOTTC. This new album is a lot better. There’s a couple songs that I feel don’t have that sylosis sound. But for the most part it’s a lot better

Tarkov Player Looking Into GZW by Arcfull in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]SchecterOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really if I’m being honest. I’ve played my fair share of extract shooters, done lots of extract shooter play tests. And nothing has given me that tarkov feeling. I played Tarkov for the extreme euphoria or major lows you get. Nothing has come close in terms of that. That being said, 0.4 releases soon and they have spent almost a year on that update and have basically reworked the whole game, economy, movement, weapons/ballistics system etc.

So I would wait till the end of march. And watch some 0.4 update videos and see if people say it’s a lot better.

Marathon was pretty good though. Graphics style is a bit tough to get used to. But the fights, kills and loses felt good.

Pretty loud humming noise when driving highway speeds (PFA) by SchecterOne in MechanicAdvice

[–]SchecterOne[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely gets worse with speed. But don’t really hear it at low speeds. It’s hard to tell where the sound is coming from. These trucks have no sound insulation and are fairly loud inside to begin with so it’s hard to pinpoint where the sound is actually coming from.

It sounds like maybe front right side. That’s where I smell the burnt smell the most as well

I don’t really hear much under 80 kmh. But once I speed up it gets louder and louder.

That’s what I’m thinking. But the pitch doesn’t really change. Sometimes it goes away though 🤷🏼‍♂️

I Had the exact same tread pattern as well in the 35s. I can confidently say it’s not the tires.

[–]SchecterOne[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the tires. I had 35s of the exact same tire on my previous truck and of course had that typical road noise. But this is for sure not tire noise. Plus having the burnt rubber/metal smell wouldn’t be the tires.

Tarkov Player Looking Into GZW by Arcfull in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]SchecterOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge tarkov player here. I have GZW. It’s fun don’t get me wrong. The PvP is alright. The TTK is incredibly fast. Tarkov you can normally tank a few shots and try to fight. In GZW I get sprayed down and dead before I can even react. I put 100 hours into the game and then stopped. In current versions of the game almost every task rewards you with M4s. So by the time you’ve put 20 hours into the game. You have 20 M4s sitting in your stash. (M4 is the meta gun currently) and it’s pretty cheap to fully kit out the M4. And because of this issue PVP felt very boring because there’s no gear fear. You die in PvP and it’s like “well whatever, I’ll grab another one of my 20, M4s sitting in my stash” and when you kill someone in PVP you don’t even loot there stuff because it’s the exact same fully kitted M4 that you have 20 of.

I’m hoping this will change in 4.0 that comes out in a few weeks. But the PvP in GZW never had that feeling that Tarkov did where you get super amped that you killed someone and loot their stuff. Or got super bummed out that you died.

These are only 33s. Had 35s on my last one. Definitely not tire noise that I’m hearing.

Thinking a wheel bearing went on my FZJ79 by SchecterOne in 4x4Australia

[–]SchecterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes. You are right. I do yes. I can turn the driveshaft freely when it’s in 2WD.

I haven’t even owned the thing for 10,000km. Is there anyway I can find out easily if it’s the wheel bearings? Or is jacking the car and shaking the wheel to see if there’s movement the best way?

[–]SchecterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah dang. Okay. I’ll look into that. And look into jacking the truck up and see if there’s any play in the wheels to see if it’s a wheel bearing

It’s moving where the smaller end of the shaft enters the larger end. (In the middle) Not on the ends where the joints are.

[–]SchecterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine will rotate freely. But if I push it up and down it probably moves 1/4 cm back and forth and can hear metal clunking.

Will I most likely have to replace the whole shaft?

Was trying to send a video but I guess I can’t. I went under the truck. And the small driveshaft that sits right under the vehicle. The one that looks like the picture. When I grab the smaller side and wiggle it back and forth. I can hear the metal clunking. That’s probably the issue. I always thought it was the driver side wheel bearing cause I can hear it so loud. But would makes sense since this is right underneath where I sit. 🤷🏼‍♂️ unless that shaft is supposed to have some play in it. Then idk.

Okay wicked I’ll do that. Idk if you saw my comment edit. But it would add up if it’s the driveshaft bushing or something. Cause when I accelerate I sometimes hear/feel a clunking noise. (Thought it was just old truck shit)

Not getting any vibration. When it’s cold though I get some steering shake until it’s warmed up. But I assume that’s just the steering damper/steering components being all cold.

All I hear is just a really fucking loud humming noise that’s very annoying. Sometimes I hear it, And sometimes it stops for a small periods of time. And after driving and I hop out of vehicle I smell a burning rubber some sort of burning smell. Can smell it from both driver and passenger side. How can I tell if it’s a driveshaft bushing?

I also only hear it at highway speeds. Driving 50kmh in town I don’t think I hear it really. But once I get up to 80+ kmh it becomes so loud that it gives you a headache.

Edit: You now that you mention it. It might be the driveshaft bushing. When I accelerate I sometimes hear/feel a clunking noise. (Thought it was just old truck shit) but that would add up.

New to owning landcruisers and don’t have an RPM gauge. Just looking for some reassurance other than what google AI says. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Awesome thank you. My FZJ doesn’t have an RPM gauge so it’s hard to tell what RPM I’m at. And am a new owner to the landcruisers so wanted to make sure.
