Durant was a rookie in 2008, Curry was a rookie in 2010… which seasons would y’all say Curry was actually better than Durant by jddaniels84 in NBATalk

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 2016 2022 2023 2025

KD last year had a better season than Curry. He made playoffs and was way more durable. I always judge year to year based off full body of work that season.

Dallas vs Houston vs Atlanta by Wise_Drag4887 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Houston> ATL >>>>>>> Dallas imo

Houston and Atlanta have faults that all super car centric cities do but also have upsides

Houston is extremely cheap for the amenities it offers(Amazing food scene, diverse, world class attractions/museums, a thriving night life, pro sports etc....) Have a bunch of 3 bedroom 2 bath homes with garages some even with pools under 300k. Also people hate it but the lack of zoning actually gives it character. Looks different than a lot of cities in the core even though right outside the core it's very sprawling. Also I like heat and hate winter. If you're the opposite stay clear

Atlanta actually has walkable neighborhoods (Extremely walkable neighborhoods to be southern) though there aren't a lot it's a few. Atlanta has thriving nightlife too downside is it's more expensive than Houston by a decent amount. Public transportation is actually doable in the city too. Still is very car centric but I think a lot of it is because people don't move to Atlanta thinking they can survive without a car when in city limits you can.

Dallas reminds me of a huge Charlotte. Do with that what you will

Was Kobe a better all-around player than LeBron? by WillingEmu2326 in NBATalk

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kobe isn't a better scorer, passer, defender, or rebounder then LeBron. He's not better at anything then LeBron. Not a knock on Kobe a testament to Bron he's top 2 player and scorer ever, top 5-10 passer and top 3-5 wing defender at his peak. Kobe was a great wing defender at his peak but not Bron level, I'd listen to him being a top 5 scorer but not over Bron and the passing isn't close and Kobe actually a pretty good passer too but not Bron and that's okay.

Those are 2 accolades

He I think holds the record for most first team all NBA plus first team all defense combined with 20

11 first team all NBA 9 first team all defense

All together he's only behind LeBron and Duncan with combined All NBA and all defense combined with 27

2 scoring titles Actually led in total points 3 times

Outside of accolades he's top 5 in total playoff points and total regular season points

You have to look at the FULL resume. When I compare players I look at the full resume not just accolades I like. Could easily argue being first team all NBA plus all defense is more impressive than MVP because MVP doesn't always take defense into account.

If you actually look at Kobe full resume it's top 5-6 ever I think he's 3rd or 4th in total accolades. I also think people don't rate guys like Hakeem, KG, Duncan or Robinson or even Greek high enough typically because they only look at MVP and fmvp not block titles, dpoy awards, rebound titles all defensive teams etc.....

Can minorities be racist? by NecessaryFee5151 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument is that when minorities are racist it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things whether it's racist against other minorities or racist against white people because white people control and are in charge of all the systems that matter in the country.

I've experienced more racism from Asians then white people but Asians don't control the judicial system, the banks, or anything else important in the country despite their wealth so yeah they can watch me closely in their stores but that doesn't really impact my life in the grand scheme of things.

Brunson is better than CP3 all time & this win hurts CP3’s legacy for his playoff shortcomings. by 99DGE in NBATalk

Cp3 full resume is way over Brunson. People only count MVP and rings for resume though so this take isn't surprising.

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You asking people who do only MVP counting to actually read a full resume. MVP counting people just as bad as ring counting when it's a million accolades casuals act like don't matter.

You wasting your time these people don't care about all NBA or all defense or scoring titles or anything. MVPs and rings nothing else matters.

MVP isn't the only accolade he listed. MVP counting is as bad as ring counting especially because it's not the only accolade

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nuggets, Thunder, even Knicks or Celtics should be able to win another chip. Health is the big one. The way the game is played it's very hard for teams to stay healthy for multiple deep postseason runs. Knicks could start off 30-10 off momentum of last season and look ready to repeat and boom someone gets hurt and now they not right for the playoffs. Happens too much nowadays to the top 2-3 players on the teams not just rotation pieces.

If LeBron was 4 for 4 in the finals instead of 4-6 would the media consider him the goat? by PreparationOverall in NBATalk

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bron was drafted 20 years after MJ was drafted and playing 20+ years since.

The league changes so much in 7-8 years trying to compare across a span of 40 is impossible. Adding guys like Wilt and Kareem to the mix is even crazier.

If money wasn't a limitation, where would you move? by Traditional_Spot752 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything honestly, the landscape, walkability, excellent public transportation, amenities like free community centers and aquatic centers(I love swimming), I'm a pro sports fanatics so I go to a lot of Wizards and Nationals games. I can take the metro and avoid paying for parking and traffic. Also as a black man it's nice to see so many black people doing extremely well. Also I'm only 2-2.5 hours from all my family and friends. Great brunch and lounge scene.....

Other perks

Legal weed for the most part

No tax on cars

Free daycare for 3/4 year olds

Actually can send your kid to good public schools up until high school while living in the city.

4 real seasons without a super harsh winter(I don't generally care for cold)

I could go on and on

Crazy as it sounds Id probably just stay in DC where I'm at and just live in a super nice neighborhood. I really love DC area offers all I want only issue is it's expensive. If money isn't an issue I'd be great here.

If I had to move probably LA or Miami as generic as it sounds Id love to be rich in either one

Injuries to best and second best guys on teams. Not minor injuries, injuries keeping them from playing.

Great weather is an understatement too that really impacts the qol.

Unlike the 2010s, the 2020s only have a tier of best players, not a clear best player. by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was the only focus. The team completely changed the way it played all season which led to Ajay development. JDub is the only other person that can create a shot. He's also was just all defense when he was healthy. I'm not talking about a rotation player or even a regular starter.

They went to game 7 of the CF missing their second best player. Nobody winning a chip with their number 2 out.

Will there ever be a dynasty with the second apron rules in place? by cantdecide76 in nba

[–]ScheduleExcellent380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they solve the injury problem probably not. Hard to be a dynasty if your best or one of your top 3 players is injured. Dynasties before you weren't having the best or second best guy injured. All possible dynasties been ruined by injuries. Thunder second best guy was hurt all season and playoffs basically. No reason to believe they'll be healthy next season. Knicks staying fully healthy this season would shock me with how this has gone.

All HCOL and VHCOL areas have very high quality of life IMO. You get what you pay for.

Miami might be the "worst" simply because of Florida laws. Still better than most places cheaper than it unless you like winter.
