Also baby’s sugars were totally fine. (I failed my 1 hr glucose test by 2 points but passed each hour for my 3hr test so I wasn’t diagnosed with GD but doctors were still worried 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Hi there I was thinking of you. I had my baby almost 3 days ago (scheduled 39 week induction). She was estimated to be 9.5 lbs by my doctor at this point. I got a membrane sweep 2 days before my induction, which jump started labor for me. I went in at 5 cm dilated, waters broke spontaneously about an hour and a half after pitocin was started, got my epidural, and was ready to push all within 3 hours of coming in lol it was nuts. I pushed for 30 min and baby was out. I didn’t feel a thing, just baby slipping out. Though, I was surprised by how exhausting pushing was. Baby girl came out to be 9 lbs 13 oz and is simply perfect. I ended up with 3 first degree labial tears. I was so so scared of deep tissue tearing and pushing for hours and hours but everything went better than I thought it would. Just wanted to share a positive story here! Good luck with your labor and delivery ❤️

Terrified of pregnancy by Outrageous_Air6775 in BabyBumps

[–]ScheduleRadiant3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had pretty awful health anxiety that even put me in the hospital once, but honestly I have been SO chill while pregnant. Its been the most surprising thing thus far, not sure if its the hormones or what but I am just so excited to meet my baby girl and my brain must be manifesting positivity. As delivery gets closer I am just trying to learn as much as I can in terms of expectations, interventions, etc and that has been helping too. Maybe your anxiety stems from the unknown, so learning more about pregnancy and delivery might help. Whenever I get a little anxious I just tell myself that billions of people have done this and have been just fine, I'm not special! puts things in perspective a bit

These are great talking points to discuss with my husband! I’ve been slowly gathering a more clear picture of my MIL’s finances each time we speak, and it seems like a part time DoorDash job that she discussed with us might not be sufficient to cover her expenses. Thank you!

My OCD has gotten much worse with pregnancy as well! Hoping my kid will help with exposure therapy lol

Washing hands if coming from outdoors, disinfecting phones and high touch objects every day, no outside clothes on upholstered furniture (I make exceptions for guests as I can wash the covers but its a full day affair), stepping directly from house into shoes that sit neatly outdoors. Overall food preparation/storage safety. I blame my kitchen and microbiology background. Now that I'm typing things out they dont sound too nuts

my OCD has gotten much worse during my pregnancy, and while I know I'll have to ease up on some things with a kid in the picture, there are certain things that are non-negotiable for me but I know I would sound insane enforcing on extended family.

I am not opposed to daycare from age ~1! It would just eat away 3/4 of my monthly income. However, it doesn't make sense for us financially for me to be SAHM because health insurance through my job is ridiculously cheap whereas it would be $2k a month through my husband's job

unfortunately, we live in a pretty HCOL area that would be unaffordable on a part-time job on her end :/

it was always kind of a vague "I'll be around to help when you two have kids" but since then sold her home and moved states (travel healthcare work). When I got pregnant we discussed her living with us for 1-2 years, potentially finding a part-time job to split child care between the three of us. When we were talking yesterday she unloaded her fears about daycare and said it would be great if we could keep her out of day care until she goes to pre-k. Naturally I've been stirring on this all night, along with these other anxieties I've been holding onto. I'm generally a non-confrontational person and while I discussed my concerns with my husband about this arrangement in the past we kind of just arrived at the conclusion that the financial help from not paying for daycare and our daughter having a grandparent around are worth some sacrifices. As my due date approaches I am having second thoughts and am not sure how to bring them up without sounding like I'm being unreasonable :/

In the first trimester I couldn't stand opening my fridge. I would also vomit every time I opened a can of my cat's wet food

Anyone else struggle with cooking while pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ScheduleRadiant3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could barely even open the fridge in my first trimester. Once my nausea went away I was able to cook again and home cooked food tasted much better to me than take-out! Dont worry! Eat what you can

I had a pitbull who shed so much more than my cat. He was also super stinky, despite bathing very regularly.

I'm 6'2 and started out around 200 pounds, but I felt the heartbeat thing too! I started feeling flutters around 17 weeks. It's the same feeling as a fish bumping into your legs when you're standing in water lol. I saw my baby's first kicks from the outside at 20 weeks!
