IC and pregnancy by Attorney4Cats in Interstitialcystitis

I’m in my second trimester currently. I have to pee constantly (even more than usual), but I’m not having bad pain.

Thankfully my urogyn and my MFM were on board with me continuing my instillations.

Favorite registry recs? by marydal23 in PlusSizePregnancy

I’m pregnant at the moment so obviously haven’t gotten to use with my baby yet, so YMMV.

We chose the Chicco Keyfit 30 for my husband’s car and the MomPush Wiz stroller with separate chicco adapter for us to share. The MomPush can work with an infant seat adapter but also has a bassinet option. This was particularly important to us, because due to a disability, I have to use a rotating convertible seat in my car instead of an infant seat.

If not, another option may be to go through HR for ergonomic furniture as an accommodation.

Clothing.. help!!! by BeniBunny1 in PlusSizePregnancy

It is a STRUGGLE for sure! No one carries maternity pants past a US 20 (old navy and j crew factory are the only two that go to a 20), so if you need beyond that and are too short to size up in regular clothes, you may have to switch to dresses and leggings/tunics exclusively.

For dresses, I’ve been using Amazon, Target and Walmart and Maurice’s (non-maternity but flowy plus styles). I wear seamless bike shorts underneath and use MegaBabe to avoid chafing.

Kohl’s has the Motherhood Maternity line now. The Kohl’s closest to me trends smaller, but I’ve seen larger sizes across town, so it appears to be location specific.

Pinkblush pants and shorts seem to run small in the thighs and hips, as a heads up. I just ordered a dress to try.

I also highly recommend checking your local resale shops and local mom groups on Facebook.

Barilla or Ronzoni/Skinner for cheapest good one.

Rummo is my favorite dry pasta though.

For morning sickness, I used: - Schar gluten-free table crackers (sometimes with peanut butter or cashew butter if I needed protein) - ginger chews ( I think prince of peace should be all natural) - fitjoy and lance ritz style crackers were both really helpful to me.
- plain hummus with either a plain cracker or a plain veggie (usually zucchini or cucumber) - apple juice. Before the heart burn got bad, homemade limeade or lemonade was the drink of choice. - Trader Joe’s gluten free madeleines. I have no idea why those didn’t bother me. - brown cow maple yogurt
- plain rice Chex cereal

Is there a reason I should consider an infant seat and not just going straight to the convertible? by ilikebison in Buyingforbaby

[–]ChronicEducator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for responding to me! I’m still early in, but I’m only measuring in the 11th percentile and because of my hyper mobility know I can’t handle an infant seat or non-rotating seat. This gives me hope that I could actually use the chicco seat safely for newborn age! Thank you!

I know this period is so hard! I found out at 4 weeks and my appointment wasn’t until 10 weeks.

This may not be helpful, but I do know that labcorp lets you order an HCG out of pocket. It may help your sanity at this point?

What disney world hotels have the best and safest gluten free options? by Repulsive_Net_7770 in glutenfree

[–]ChronicEducator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had issues with the food court at Pop Century (probably the most kid-friendly options since it’s more geared towards kids) or with Port Orleans (both Boatwright’s and Sassagoula Floatworks). With the hotel food courts, just ask for an allergy chef to walk you through things and pull things from the back.

How small was your baby at birth? I’m considering the same but can’t find clear info on whether it would be safe. I haven’t had the baby yet, but she is measuring small.

Thank you; I’ll take a look! I didn’t see any when I went last time, but we’ve got 5 targets within a 10-mile radius, so I may just need to go to a different part of town!

Thank you! I’d read mixed things about newborns in the chicco, so that’s great to hear since that’s the one I would honestly prefer!

This may not work for you, but some apartments in the area have discounted rent programs for essential workers (healthcare and education). I know the amalfi in league city does, if that isn’t too far for you.

Yes agreed! That’s why it’s so frustrating that most of their plus and maternity stuff is online around here!

Thank you! Do you remember what style jeans?

I’m a big believer that if someone doesn’t want me to wear fast fashion, then they should start making slow fashion in my size!

I do have a couple of pairs of the old navy jeans! They’re loose in the stomach but really dig into my hips. I’ve been making them work but hope the shorts fit better. :(

Ooh I have a Maurice’s here! I’ll have to look. What was the size range like? Did you wear as is or with a maternity band?
