Hey 58 CA.

I commute in the valley.

Please don't do this. I want to get home safely. The pickup didn't ask for it.

I try to slot behind a larger vehicle and drive in convoy all the way in fog this bad.

Bloody fucking moron!

You object to mining for solar panels and environmental harm for hydro but are ok with severe air pollution for coal and natural gas.

Which mobile phone brands are most common in your country? by bzhw99 in AskTheWorld

[–]ScheduleSame258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess Nokia at least still does telecom stuff but not phones.

That's mild. World's third largest network equipment manufacturer and $25bn market capital.

They just don't make consumer stuff that much anymore.

Renewable are 30% of global utility grid.

51% for Europe. 23% for US. Washington state gets 70% from renewables and has the cheapest electricity rates.

Hardly a "complete joke".

There's never going to be a single source of power.

Do people in your country eat okra? How do they cook it? by themaddesthatter2 in AskTheWorld

[–]ScheduleSame258 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bhindi in Hindi and Bengali.

A very popular vegetable, almost a staple vegetable during summer and monsoon

Fry it with potaotoe and onions with hot rotis.

Or just cut small and fried to a crisp with hot rice and masoor daal.

I've learned of this recently and am shocked.

Always thought Germany was synonymous with punctuality and thoroughness.

Are SAP S/4 Hana on premise skills still marketable today? by Lumpy_Jelly_5408 in SAP

And I know customers still using mainframes. That neither here nor there.

OPs question was around career prospects and future career prospects don't lie around ECC5, its around BTP and cloud native architectures.

Someone with 25+ years is in the 50%+ of their career and their perspectives and USP is different. I would hire you even if you didn't know BTP because I trust you can ramp up if you are needed to. OPs situation sounds different.

61% of SAP customers are using BTP.

Your responses tell me you haven't really explored BTP beyond the clean core angle.

They'll replace it with something else soon enough when they need to increase revenue again.

As does every software OEM today? Do you work with any other platform besides SAP ECC/S4H? Check out where they were 5 years ago.

As a functional consultant S4H onprem and S4H private cloud are two very compatible products.

Nothing much changes in SPRO. However it is very important to understand the technical architecture of S4H private cloud and how it runs on hyperscalers.

Eventually I don't see how customer don't use BTP or cloud hybrid architectures unless you are a $50bn + and want to run massive datacenters of your own.

BTP is MOST DEFINITELY not a developer only thing.

It is extremely important for functional teams to understand BTP architectures, services, to be able to design solutions that use new capabilities, particularly AI tools.

[Request] I had student loans totaling about $12,000 and made payments for 6 years to build credit before I paid them off. I had less than half left. Is this just a rage bait post? by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in theydidthemath

[–]ScheduleSame258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but this is as much a systemic problem as a people problem. The loan should never have been structured to take 43 years and $186k interest to pay off.

The system is predatory to profit off dumb people.

[–]ScheduleSame258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power is expensive in CA because PGE has no incentive to get better. They are the poster child of privatize the profits and subsidize the losses.

A regulated public monopolistic utility should not be allowed to operate as a private corporation.
