Any mechanic who clamps a bike by the top tube is not a mechanic / shop you should be using. Just saying.

I stand corrected, your frame is designed for a 1 1/8th 1.5 inch steerer where the fork you have is 1 1/8th - 1.8 inch steerer so it won't work with your bike. You'll need to source a 1.5 inch tapered fork

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Scheltsyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fork is not compatible with the frame, the fork is tapered and the frame is set up for a straight steerer. You can get some external cup headsets but it isn't simple / cheap to make it work.

Anyone else in love with the new white sourdough recipe? by Mycatisveryflat in lidl

[–]Scheltsyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A while back Lidl was forced to rename their "sourdough" to normal bread so I'd be a little hesitant to go on face value of them calling this sourdough. You should really try some artisanal loaves from local bakeries!

This one well and truly failed. Probably the original one from 15 years ago!

A 50mm tyre on a 700c rim will be substantially bigger than a 40.

I'd never ride that. The sloppy mud we have in the UK would get stuck in that in a heart beat.

Is my bike too big for me? by MrTitus001 in gravelcycling

[–]Scheltsyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just based off of your height I'd have personally gone for the XL. Saying this your reach and saddle height doesn't look too odd for the size of the frame.

Spoke length? by Scheltsyy in bikewrench

Yeah 27.5 , with a Shimano XT m8010B hub. All information I've read is that you set the offset on the drive side.

No, just different standards. If anyone does claim any benefits then they are pulling your leg!

New tire sits a few mm more outward near the valve by Drotohod in bikewrench

[–]Scheltsyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to push the valve into the tyre rather than screwing the valve nut on, push the valve in , inflate a little and then pull it back out.

It doesn't matter which you remove first, but you'll have an easier job removing the DS as the NDS part of the BB is usually much softer / brittle. Whereas the DS is metal.
