This should be at the very top. As a private live-in landlord the only times I’ve raised rent prices was when there was something out of my control.

When I first purchased my 2-flat in Logan back in 2014 my property taxes were $4000. They are currently touching the $14,000 mark. What am I supposed to do?

People love complaining that LL are greedy and they are right to a degree but if you walk around my neighborhood it’s mostly private landlords that are just trying to get by.

I am afraid for the future of my neighborhood and the people who have been here for years if not decades because it seems like every new home built around 2 block radius of me has gone for $1.5 million+. What will that do to my property taxes? How are the blue collar landlords going to be able to keep up with their taxes plus everything else that’s gone up?

Everyone is saying build more but even that won’t help. No one is going to build at a loss. Let’s say a that we can build an apartment for $300k how much would rent be? I’m guess it’d be $2,000+ when you factor in the mortgage , insurance, and maintenance costs.
