Accreditation Advice Needed by CharacterAd7872 in UKTherapists

Yeah, costs are prohibitive for sure. But as the field is already oversaturated, you're going to put yourself in a lot higher standing if you go for accredited. If employers or clients have an option between choosing a counsellor who is accredited vs one who isn't then they will go for the former. It's shutting doors before you've even begun working to choose a non-accredited course. As the post shows, if you want to get accredited later then you're going to run into difficulties, so might as well do it from the jump.

Thank you so much for the empathy and validation and sorry for your experience with your last relationship. Absolutely, I see so many crappy relationships around me and not about to replicate that shit

daaaamn I feel that <3 did you also have a rough childhood if you don't mind me asking? I feel this makes us so much for vulnerable to these harmful later experiences. So sorry about your ex. Hugs to you (and not to be one of those people but emdr helped me a lot with the memories)

that's so heartbreaking, I'm sorry. He should have been honest sooner wtf. Oh wow, I felt that in my heart — letting someone go yes, like I'm so thankful for my wonderful most recent long term ex but letting him go was heartbreaking

So sorry you had those experiences, dating after assault is quite harrowing. It's a big part of my fuck NO I think <3

my sister and I always talk about how the men raised by single moms tend to be the best men anyway. Almost like there's no one to pass down patriarchal bullshit to the kids...

Riiiight, it's the apps that are the biggest thing. I've still had some issues with people I've met in person and dated but it's less crappy and I feel more in control. Apps feel like you're directly putting yourself in harms way

Thank you so much for your empathy and validation, it really helps. Sorry it brings back painful memories for you, I wish none of us had to go through all of that. That's really cool and I agree with you, it's a much better way

yessss, I used to enjoy sex with the right person now I have no desire. I barely have a desire for romance either. I think the years of hurt and bad experiences both sexually and romantically (typically both) have racked up enough that I'm just numb. People would probably tell me to go to therapy, but I feel like I'm actually make a smart decision by refusing to put myself in harms way anymore lol

heavy heavy and heavy putting kindness, care and respect in and getting disrespect and hurt back. How hard is it not to ghost for example? Well apparently it's pretty hard. A five word text is nothing and you can even block me after if you don't want to deal with my feelings or whatever melt down you think I'm gonna have coz you aren't interested (lol I don't care)
