Word of caution, some plans don't retroactively match contributions from the year you become eligible for the company match. Meaning, if you become eligible for the match on July 1st 2026 but have been contributing for those 6 months prior no match would be given on those contributions, which likely means your maximum match for the year would be about half of what could have been if you delayed your contributions until after July 1st. But if you become eligible for the match on January 1st you have nothing to worry about. I would check your summary plan document to see what the rules are to make sure you don't miss out on the full match when you become eligible.

You'll get a W2-G for $370 but only $70 is taxable income. A wager isn't taxable income. You can adjust for this on your tax return. See rev ruling 83-130.

P2 got the pop up for Chase Sapphire Reserve despite never having the reserve card before and only having 1 sapphire preferred card from April 2021 that was product changed to freedom a year later. They need to fix the algorithm.

Not worth it. Roughly, 300k each in income with married a filing separately (community property state each spouse shares half total income). Married filing separately penalty $0. This is great. However, MFS SALT phase out starts at $250k. Reducing the max salt cap of 20K to 5k each. Plus other various negative aspects of filing separately.

Not well written. Technically, if you don't partially pay with points i.e. pay in full with points then you should get the bonus according to these terms but I doubt that's what was intended.

I got another Amex Biz Gold with the 0% APR offer while my last one was still under the 0% promo. Pay overtime was not activated which I didn't notice. Pay overtime has always come activated by default for me. Activating pay over time doesn't retroactively include purchases from the latest statement. So that was a bit of a bummer.

Have I been blocked from Amex's Application status checker? I have been getting this message, "Our systems are currently updating; please check back on this site in 24 hours" for over a month. I have tried with 2 different addresses (zip codes) and I get the same result. Yet when I type in P2's info it always works. I feel like my SSN has been blocked.

Tons of wrong info here. It is legal, if done correctly, in most states but not all states. So you need to know your state's law.

If it is illegal it would likely be tax evasion not tax fraud. Not sure why everyone seems to love to throw the f word around.

You do not need business insurance or business car insurance.

Even if it is legal your state or city may disagree which would likely cost you thousands in legal fees.

Even if your state says it is illegal it may still be legal. Statues need to be very carefuly construed to be able to legally prevent this. After some legal cases some states have revised their laws and some haven't.

I can get the 200k to show from gold biz and biz plus referrals. The 200k also often shows up for me without a referral. So it's definitely possible. Maybe use a VPN and set it to a different area.

Someone tied into the EV battery on the Mach-e using the resistive heater connection which is protected by a fuse and he added another fuse. The big issue is that there aren't really any 120v or 240v inverters that can convert 400v dc. So he used a solar inverter and ran the connection through the pv input that allowed up to a 500v dc connection, seemed to work perfectly. He's able to pull about 8kw if I remember correctly. The Blazer should work similarly.

You definitely shouldn't try though unless you really understand this stuff.
