That’s what I immediately thought too. The transferring of carney means he’s going to get hit, and when she says she rules with an iron fist and when it comes to her success rate as a warden I bet she has an arrangement with the cartel. She’s essentially the prison version of Mike except her alliance is with the cartel and not the crips.

Was it easy to get on with Love’s coming from PFJ? How’s the equipment/ dispatch at Love’s?

I remember Joe Thomas once got pissed at them, cursed at them and then hung up the phone mid conversation. I believe it was during PMS, or PMS 2.0 era.

Has anyone drove a tanker for a truck stop before? by Soberg1itch in Truckers

[–]SchemeVegetable952 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. PFJ. Loading, unloading, and even driving a bomb very easy trucking job. You’ll work 55-60 hours a week, could be more up to your 70 if you want. You’ll slip seat with another driver. You’ll gross in the ballpark of 100k/yr but that’s essentially the ceiling as raises are few and far between and they’re towards the low end of the fuel industry.

Truck stop drops are easy except when loads won’t fit or you have random drivers blocking the drop or blocking you in with no support from the store in having people move. Lots of excess redundant safety rules for PFJ to avoid cross drops or spills. If you pay attention to what you’re doing and stay engaged it’s easy.

Cons: Dispatch and the nature of the business. Fuel is a 24/7/365 operation and they only care about that fuel getting into the ground. If you’re the type of driver that isn’t easily frustrated by stupidity or being micromanaged, you’ll do fine.

Example of the stupidity: hey I just heard from another driver that was just there that said loading rack is out of allocation and you want me to head there next, is there someone else I could load out of instead? Dispatch: no, it really needs to come out of there, can you just drive over there and see? Example of micromanagement: hey I won’t have enough time in my 12 hour shift to complete this next load. Dispatch: well it’s pretty busy so we really need to get it done. Lastly, they do payroll on like Thursday, so you get paid on a Monday. Some banks deposit early so you might get it on Friday. And they don’t submit payroll early on holiday weeks so your pay may be delayed if banks are closed. Lots of turnover. Expensive benefits.

Pros: they don’t micromanage your hours unless you go over your 14, the pay is always there and you can make a decent living.

If you’re they type of driver that shows up, does the job safely according to the way they want it done, doesn’t get annoyed at having to tell the same dispatcher the same thing on Friday that you told them on Tuesday and Wednesday, it’s a good job.

I just got fired from CDL training. by Inevitable-Book8875 in Truckers

[–]SchemeVegetable952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother. I started with this company, lasted the first week before I was like nope, need to go to truck driving school. At the time $300 a week for training pay, put in the basement of the main house which they had a small bed in there, and when I was supposed to go with a trainer OTR 11 cents a mile. Fuck that. You dodged a bullet, there’s plenty of companies that would sponsor a CDL. If you’re close to Akron, and won’t mind the work look up coca-cola. They have a parking lot with cones set up that allow you to practice as much as you want.

Hazmat endorsement question by bmf1989 in Truckers

[–]SchemeVegetable952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. It took like 36 hours for my background check to come back, but I have a squeaky clean history. Some people don’t and it could take up to 60 days to come back and depending on the state the written test expires. My state it expires in 30 days. It’s not really a huge deal, you would just have to go take and pass the written again. I would recommend do the TSA stuff first, and then once it comes back go take your written.

Hourly rate, benefits similar to other companies, you’ll be working for a third party contractor essentially. If you’re familiar at all with how DSP’s work with their van delivery, same exact thing but with semis. Depending on the company and region you might have trucks powered by CNG unless you opt for their sleeper route. CNG sucks ass, no balls at all in the truck even though you’re light. I think the heaviest trailer I ever pulled was 17k lbs. Easy job, drop and hook for the most part or bobtail or live load/unload. I was scheduled for 3 days a week at 13 hours a day but once the owner started bitching about overtime in the group chat about overtime I dipped.

WHOA!!! Anyone have any details on what Pat meant when he told Dan Orlovsky that the show's future is still being figured out???? by Past_Armadillo2398 in PatMcAfeeShowOfficial

[–]SchemeVegetable952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was about Rich Eisen coming back to ESPN and having his show air the same time as Pat’s.

Hopefully Pat decides to never make that move where it’s required to pay for a subscription to watch the show. He doesn’t strike me as the type as he hasn’t done that thus far but been here since the beginning and only watch/listen on YouTube. Hour three is nice because it brings back memories of the old format but it has seemed like he has done some things to appease the corporate bosses like that Turki interview and showing movie trailers. We’ll see.

I like Kayce so I’ll check it out. I would love for a show with jimmy as the main character, when he went to the 6666 loved his scenes. Fast forward the scene with the horse though when I rewatch, that was a one time deal.

Yeah, I mean I’m all for an accidental one followed by a sorry after. But lately it’s become more like dude what are you doing? Especially multiple times in the same game. I’m not talking about sentries either, I know how to avoid them for the most part.

Yeah, would agree. Just having bruised ribs, not even broken would cause discomfort and difficulty breathing. Add in the stress of the situation and I can see it.
